Praise God, Good morning!
No one wish to be poor! We seek to be rich in material things and in life. We work so hard to avoid poverty. That is all good and acceptable. However, there is a poverty that is good! Being poor in spirit. Feeling you always need God, the desire to have more of God! A need to be in His presence, an urge to always seek and to do His Will.
Matthew 5:3 NKJV
““Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
Are you poor in the things of the spirit or are we rich in spirit?
The Bible does not appear to have kind words about the rich and riches of this world. Remember the rich man and Lazarus? Any other examples? Jesus said it will be easier for a Carmel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter God’s kingdom? What??
Are you rich in the things, the hustles and bustles of this life?
Are you rich in spirit? What are some of tte signs of being rich in spirit:
- No hunger for prayer,
- No fellowship,
- Do not go to the House of God .
- You no longer read the Word of God,
- No Pastor who you obey or are accountabke to
- No passion for God,
- no service in church - your ministry has died
- No prayers
- No fasting, humbling yourself before God
- No giving and tithing
- no service to the poor and vulnerable
- no evangelism / wining souls for Jesus
- No sacrifice for the sake of the Kingdom
- etc
Lets us all desire to be and to remain poor in spirit….., greater riches await us in Eternity …. The Kingdom of God. I would that we lose the world but inherit the Kingdom of God!
Shalom! Blessed Sunday,
Happy Holidays!
