June marks Men's Mental Health Awareness Month—a time to spotlight the often-overlooked emotional struggles men face. While society has made strides in encouraging women to express their feelings, men frequently encounter barriers that discourage emotional openness.

The Silent Struggles:

Men are nearly four times more likely to die by su***de than women, yet they are significantly less likely to seek mental health support

Societal norms often equate masculinity with stoicism, leading many men to suppress their emotions rather than seek help.

Creating Safe Spaces .

To support men's mental health, we must:

• Encourage Open Conversations: Normalize discussions about feelings among men. Simple check-ins can make a significant difference.
• Promote Professional Help: Advocate for therapy and counseling as tools for strength, not signs of weakness.
• Foster Supportive Environments: Whether at home, work, or in the community, create spaces where men feel safe to express themselves without judgment.
• Educate on Mental Health: Share resources and information to increase awareness and understanding.

Supporting men's mental health requires collective effort. By fostering environments of empathy and understanding, we can help men feel seen, heard, and valued.

🚨 LUNGS OF A 25-YEAR-OLD VAPER 🚨
📍 He thought va**ng was safe… until it was too late.

Three years ago, a 25-year-old male switched from ci******es to electronic va**ng after being told it was a “safer” alternative. But what exactly is inside a v**e?

🔬 Inside every puff:

Ni****ne – Highly addictive
Pulegone – A known carcinogen
Arsenic – Yes, the same poison
Nitrosamines – Cancer-causing chemicals
And many more toxic substances not meant for human lungs.
He was admitted to the hospital with:
☠️ Persistent dry cough
☠️ Chest pain
☠️ Sudden weight loss
☠️ Severe anemia

A CT scan revealed:
⚠️ Bullous emphysema
⚠️ Multiple pulmonary nodules (cancer spread in lungs)
⚠️ Brain metastasis

💔 He passed away shortly after.

This is NOT a scare tactic. This is reality.
👉 Swipe to see what his lungs looked like.
(📸 Image shown: Actual representation of diseased lung tissue after va**ng)

Still think va**ng is harmless?

🛑 Your lungs were never designed to inhale chemicals from a USB stick.

HOW TO NAVIGATE A LOVE RELATIONSHIP WITH A PARTNER WITH A SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER (SUD).

Navigating a relationship with a partner who is dependent on substance and drugs can be emotionally complex and challenging.
This kind of situation can turn a love a relationship into contempt, it can cause loss of affection and set ground for stagnation, fights, poor social engagements and even mental health challenges.

We now know that addiction and substance induced disorder can result from this kind of problem. Below are some suggestions of what you could do:

1. Encourage your partner to seek professional help with addiction or mental health professionals.

2. Practice selfcare for self. Create a balance to care for the person and yourself too.

3. Offer support and not control! You cannot fight addiction physically; you need to encourage the person to get treatment.

4. Avoid ultimatums, addiction is complex to treat, and it does take time.

5. Seek to understand the root cause, addiction does not just happen, read about it and also consult with addiction professionals.

6. Be sure that, life will change to some extend and that means being prepared to live with a new normal. Sometimes you will be required to make tough decisions!

7. Endevour to communicate openly and honestly to the person, family and friends. Being sure to involve all people (professionals, family, community, peers in recovery and the person himself) in providing support.

8. Encourage positivity, reduce on stigmatizing language and actions, always focusing on achieving recovery.

9. Just believe that recovery is possible, and recovery is a reality. It does work when you work it out.

10. Embrace an attitude of "I will care regardless of what happens". Caring for the person gives them hope and courage to pursue recovery.

Where Does Trauma Live..?🤔

Home....yes in the family.

This is where 80% of traumatic experiences are met.
How is this possible...?

Well, home is the only place where everyone anticipates and feels a sense of belonging and expect unconditional love and acceptance.

However, it is in the same place where:

- Sibling rivalry is bred.
- Power struggles between couples is unending.
- Parental rejection and abandonment is imminent.
- Children are exposed to homicide, watching their mother-father being battered to death.
- Children find themselves in the middle of a heated up parental differences due to infidelity/drugs and substances abuse/neglect/poverty.
- Exposure to sexual assault by blood relatives.
- Extreme unwarranted punishments some leading to physical injuries and ugly scars.
- Parental toxicity is sugar coated in disguise of care.
- Comparison and one sided favoritism leads to rejection, discrimination and not being included when decisions are being made.
- Estranged parents recruiting children to take sides and join in their adult misunderstanding leading to a split, bitterness and hatred.

The above mentioned are life-threatening and too complex to comprehend, confront or even run away from as a growing child. Hence, childhood trauma becomes a companion.

This shapes and negatively affects future intra/interpersonal relationships and presents as insecurities/attachment styles in adulthood.

Who will save him …Will it be his clans men or the dogs 🤔

Alcoholism is one of the biggest problems of modern age. It is a serious disease that affects not only the person who drinks, but also everyone who loves him.

Once you start drinking, it’s hard to stop, however, far from impossible. And the sooner you stop drinking, the better and easier it is.

So if you’re dealing with this disorder or know someone who is, reach out to us 0707999214

Exploring the Psychology Behind Addiction

Addiction is more than physical dependence; it’s a complex interplay of brain chemistry, psychological factors, and environmental influences.

Brain’s Reward System: Addictive behaviors highjack the brain’s dopamine pathways, meant for survival instincts, creating a cycle of dependence and tolerance.

Psychological Factors: Stress, mental health issues, and environmental factors significantly contribute to addictive behaviors.

Breaking the Cycle: Overcoming addiction involves addressing both the physical and psychological aspects, through therapy, support systems, and sometimes medication.

Addiction is a health issue, not a moral failing. Understanding its psychology is key to effective treatment and support.

PRINCIPLES OF EFFECTIVE TREATMENT

Based on scientific research since the mid-1970s, the following key principles should form the basis of any effective treatment program:

Addiction is a complex but treatable disease that affects brain function and behavior.

No single treatment is right for everyone.
People need to have quick access to treatment.

Effective treatment addresses all of the patient’s needs, not just his or her drug use.

Staying in treatment long enough is critical.
Counseling and other behavioral therapies are the most commonly used forms of treatment.

Medications are often an important part of treatment, especially when combined with behavioral therapies.

Treatment plans must be reviewed often and modified to fit the patient’s changing needs.

Treatment should address other possible mental disorders.

Medically assisted detoxification is only the first stage of treatment.

Treatment doesn’t need to be voluntary to be effective.

Treatment programs should test patients for HIV/AIDS, hepatitis B and C, tuberculosis, and other infectious diseases as well as teach them about steps they can take to reduce their risk of these illnesses.
