Message title: The Journey to Restoration
📌 One of the clearest themes in the Bible is restoration. Time and again, God restored Israel both physically and spiritually.
✅If we apply the principle of restoration, we can see God taking us back to where we need to be.
✍️ We need to understand restoration in three dimensions:
📌Restoration of what you lost in the past
📌Restoration of the people God wanted us to become but we haven't actualised it. Apostle Paul desired to Philippines 3:13-15.
📌Seekig the restoration of our corporate mandate.
✅ We begin the journey of restoration through revelation which helps us discern what we have lost.
✅Ephesians 1:16-20 records that Paul prayed earnestly for the saints in Ephesus so that they could understand the riches in Christ. He prayed for spiritual breakthrough, clarity and spiritual capacity.
✅Theologians describe this prayer by Paul as a blueprint for efficiency and breakthrough in Christian living. The prayer seeks supernatural understanding to fully make use of the resources available to believers through Christ's redemptive work that is manifested by the Holy Spirit.
✅The devil will not give you what you deserve but what you demand. You cannot demand what you don't know.
✅ The kingdom of God stuffers violence and the violent take it by force. Believers cannot fight for what they don't understand and that's why we need revelation.
✅Acts 20:32 teaches that we all have an inheritance in Christ.
✅ Ezra 3:11-13 documents that when the foundation of the second temple was dedicated, those who had not seen Solomon's temple celebrated while those who had seen it wept bitterly. The latter did so because they understood the glory that had been lost.
✅Haggai 2:3-4, 7-9 says the former temple was so glorious that those who had seen the old temple considered the new one as nothing. God encouraged Israel to continue working into the fulfillment of the Messiahnic prophecy in which the church will be more glorious than the old temple.
✅Without revelation, you an settle for anything and anywhere because you don't understand where God wants you to be.
✅ In the kingdom of God, success is measured by weighing who we are against who we are supposed to be in God's will and plan. In the world, people count sucess by comparing themselves with others.
✅ None of us has arrived at the peak of our destinies. We need to strain forward until we manifest the seed of greatness God has deposited in us and resist every form of an arrival mentality.
✅Maturity helps us stay self-motivated in offering prayers and sacrifices because we understand where God intends to take us.
✅Jeremiah 3:22 records that God repeatedly called Israel back to Himself. We need to go back to God so that He can heal our destinies and make us the people He desires us to become.
✅The prodigal son came back to his senses and went back to is father who accepted and restored him.
✅Jeremiah 15:19 shows that returning to God is both for believers and unbelievers. God required Jeremiah to let go of all vile things including speaking words of unbelief, distrust and complaining.
✅Jeremiah 30:21 gives us the formula of returning to God; He requires that we fully devote ourselves to be close to Him.
✅Joel 2:12-17 teaches that prayer and fasting is one of the greatest ways of returning to God. All people - young and old - must commit themselves to seeking God wholeheartedly until God takes pity upon His people and restores them.
✅Joel 2:25-30 assures us that restoration and divine prosperity shall manifest once God's people seek Him as He has prescribed in His word. The climax of this promise is mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
✍️Isaiah 58:6-12 gives us the template of fasting. 📌📌Fasting is not punishment but an opportunity to be fortified by the grace of God. Fasting breaks the cords of wickedness. It also gives us spiritual intelligence, removes the filthiness of the flesh and the glory of God manifests in us. God guides those who seek Him thus and makes them healthy. God also releases the grace of restoration. In sum, fasting gives God opportunity to beautify our salvation.
📌Psalm 42:1-3 teaches that when we remember the poor, we shall enjoy divine preservation and sustenance when we are sick.
📌Zechariah 3:1-9 teaches that filthy garments are removed we seek God. Iniquity is taken away.
📌 After fasting for 40 days and 40 nights, Jesus went to the synagogue and read the Scripture that was written about Him. He consequently fulfilled what was written in His book of destiny.
📌Job 20:23 teaches that God vents His anger upon the enemies of His people.
📌Exodus 23:31 records God's promise to establish Israel's borders and give them full victory over all their enemies.
