Rev. Sam Owenga teaches from Matthew 25:14–30, the Parable of the Talents, emphasizing that the hope of Christ’s return should motivate believers to live faithfully and serve diligently while opportunities remain.

He explains that biblical prophecy cleanses, comforts, and compels Christians to work for God’s kingdom as they await Jesus’ coming. Through the parable, he shows that God entrusts each person with opportunities according to their abilities and expects faithful stewardship rather than comparison with others.

Rev. Owenga highlights the responses of the three servants, the coming day of reckoning when Christ will settle accounts, the rewards awaiting faithful servants, and the judgment facing those who neglect God’s calling.

He encourages believers to use their time, talents, and resources for God’s glory, reminding them that Jesus is coming again and that every Christian should live with the desire to one day hear the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐲?
Today’s sermon highlights three benefits of studying biblical prophecy. First, it 𝒄𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒆𝒔 𝒖𝒔, because the hope of Christ’s return motivates believers to pursue holy living.
Second, it 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒕 𝒖𝒔, reminding us that Jesus is preparing a place for His people and will come again to receive them.
Third, it 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒆𝒍𝒔 𝒖𝒔, encouraging believers to faithfully serve God while opportunities still exist, because “the night is coming when no one can work.”

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞
Jesus teaches the Parable of the Talents within the Olivet Discourse, where His disciples ask about the signs of His coming and the end of the age. The parable emphasizes the need for readiness, faithfulness, and diligent service as believers await Christ’s return.

𝟏. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐖𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧 (𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐰 𝟐𝟓:𝟏𝟒–𝟏𝟓)
The master entrusts his servants with talents according to their abilities before departing on a long journey. The talents represent opportunities and resources entrusted by God. Every believer has been given abilities and opportunities to serve God and advance His kingdom.

𝟐. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐇𝐚𝐝 (𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐰 𝟐𝟓:𝟏𝟔–𝟏𝟖)
Two servants faithfully invest what they have received and multiply it, while the third servant buries his talent in the ground. The lesson is that believers should faithfully use the opportunities God provides rather than neglect them through fear, jealousy, or inactivity.

𝟑. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐝 (𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐰 𝟐𝟓:𝟏𝟗–𝟐𝟕)
After a long time, the master returns and settles accounts with his servants. The faithful servants are commended with the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant,” demonstrating that God rewards faithfulness rather than comparing people by the size of their gifts or achievements.

𝟒. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝 (𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐰 𝟐𝟓:𝟐𝟖–𝟑𝟎)
The faithful servants receive greater responsibility and enter into their master’s joy. The unfaithful servant loses even what he had and faces judgment. The parable teaches that God blesses faithfulness, while neglecting God-given opportunities leads to loss.

𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬
𝙍𝙚𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙣 – Jesus Christ is coming again.
𝑹𝒆𝒄𝒌𝒐𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈– Every person will give an account to God for how they used their time, talents, and opportunities.
𝑹𝒆𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅 – God rewards faithful service, regardless of the size of one's assignment.
𝑹𝒆𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒃𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 – Those who reject Christ and neglect God’s provision of salvation face eternal judgment.
The Parable of the Talents challenges believers to work faithfully for God while it is day. Since Christ will return, Christians should use their time, talents, and resources to serve the Lord, advance His kingdom, and live in readiness for the day they hear the words:

“𝑾𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒅𝒐𝒏𝒆, 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒂𝒏𝒕.”

Rev. Sam Owenga teaches on the signs of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ through the Olivet Discourse in Matthew 24 and 25. He explains the difference between the rapture and the Second Coming, emphasizing that believers must remain spiritually prepared at all times.
Drawing lessons from the days of Noah, the parable of the thief, the faithful and evil servants, and the ten virgins, he calls Christians to stay watchful, faithful, and ready for Christ’s return.

The sermon encourages believers to avoid spiritual complacency, live holy lives, remain committed to prayer and service, and walk in constant expectation of Jesus’ coming.

Rev. Sam Owenga also emphasizes the importance of being born again through faith in Jesus Christ, who dies, is buried, and rises again to give salvation and eternal life to all who believe in Him.

Jesus explains the signs of His Second Coming in the Olivet Discourse. The disciples ask about the destruction of Jerusalem, the signs of His coming, and the end of the age.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠
It’s necessary that we distinguish between the rapture from the Second Coming. The rapture involves believers being caught up to meet Christ, while the Second Coming happens at the end of the tribulation. Jesus calls believers to remain spiritually prepared at all times.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟
Jesus compares His coming to a thief arriving unexpectedly. Believers must stay awake, alert, and spiritually watchful because no one knows the exact hour of His return.

The faithful servant continues serving diligently while waiting for his master. The evil servant becomes careless, sinful, and unprepared. Jesus emphasizes faithfulness, obedience, and perseverance while waiting for His return.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐧 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬
Five wise virgins remain prepared with extra oil, while five foolish virgins fail to prepare. The closed door illustrates the danger of spiritual unpreparedness. Jesus teaches the importance of readiness, genuine faith, and living in expectation of His coming.

𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲
Believers are called to watch, work, and remain ready for Christ’s return. Christians should avoid spiritual laziness, sinful living, and worldly distractions. The sermon encourages prayer, faithful service, evangelism, holiness, and living with hope. The Holy Spirit empowers believers to remain prepared and spiritually awake.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐁𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐧 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧
Jesus died, was buried, and rose again so that sinners may receive forgiveness and eternal life. The only way to be ready for His return is to be born again through faith in Christ.
Jesus is coming again. The church must remain watchful, faithful, and ready. Believers should live every day with expectancy, holiness, and devotion to Christ, knowing that His return is drawing near.

In this powerful sermon, Mrs. Edith Botto teaches on the theme Return to Zion: The Journey of Restoration through the books of Ezra, Nehemiah, Haggai, and Zechariah. She explains that restoration is God’s idea and happens in stages through faith, prayer, obedience, and action. Using the examples of Ezra rebuilding worship, Nehemiah rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem, and the prophetic encouragement of Haggai and Zechariah, the message reminds believers that God restores lives, renews vision, and strengthens His people through His Spirit. Mrs. Edith Botto encourages believers to rebuild again spiritually and personally, emphasizing that no situation is beyond God’s power to restore.

The sermon explores God’s restoration work through leaders such as Zerubbabel, Ezra, Nehemiah, Haggai, and Zechariah. Restoration happens in stages and requires faith, prayer, obedience, and action.

𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐆𝐨𝐝’𝐬 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐚
God guides the restoration of Israel through different leaders and prophets. Opposition does not stop God’s purpose, and God moves the hearts of rulers to accomplish His plans.

𝐄𝐳𝐫𝐚: 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬
Ezra focuses on worship and spiritual renewal. The altar is rebuilt before the temple, showing that worship comes before outward rebuilding. Ezra teaches that revival comes through God’s Word and that discouragement distracts people from God’s work.

𝐍𝐞𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐚𝐡: 𝐑𝐞𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐬
Nehemiah focuses on protection, order, and leadership. He responds with prayer, receives permission to rebuild Jerusalem, and leads the people to rebuild the wall in fifty-two days. It’s prayer, teamwork, and healthy boundaries that protect restoration.

𝐇𝐚𝐠𝐠𝐚𝐢 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐙𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐡
Haggai and Zechariah encourage the people after the temple work stops for many years. Haggai calls the people to correct their priorities, while Zechariah reminds them that success comes through God’s Spirit and not human strength.

God restores lives in stages, worship comes before rebuilding, prayer and action work together, and God’s Spirit empowers people to complete what they cannot finish on their own.

It’s a call to believers to begin rebuilding again spiritually and personally.

Do you need inner restoration like Ezra, structure and boundaries like Nehemiah, or renewed vision like Haggai and Zechariah?

God restores what appears ruined. No matter the delay, rebuilding begins again when people respond with prayer, commitment, and obedience.
