Title : Benefits....2

Purpose : To let believers know that there are benefits of being kind.

Scripture: Psalm 41:2

"The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies."

We all know the story of a lady called Dorcas or rather Tabitha in the bible.
She was a woman who was abound with deeds of kindness and charity and she continually did. It happened that one day she got sick and died.

The widows that Dorcas was with and I believe those that she showed kindness wept so bitterly while showing Peter the tunics that she made while she was with them. Her deeds, followed her. She could not have died even if death had come because of her good deeds of kindness to the needy.

Now, our second benefit is that God will keep us alive. Dorcas was raised back to life. God had to do that because of her work to the needy. She was fruitful in the kingdom of God.

Do you want to be kept alive by God? Do the needful.

Purpose : To let believers know that their are benefits of being kind.

There are so many people who can drain your energy if you engage with them for even five minutes. They carry negative energy. They ooze unkindness and this is not what God expect of us as believers. Yes, you read right believers are not supposed to be like this.

Seated close to a lady at some place, I heard her say she can never give offering in church because it enriches the pastor while she remains wallowing in poverty. I quickly knew that that was lack of knowledge. Such a one cannot give unless she is satisfied. Such a one cannot take care of the poor and needy if she cannot give to God because she thinks she is giving to the pastor.

Our theme scripture talks of being preserved. If you read the verse before this one, you will realize that there is a condition. Being kind. You must first be kind before enjoying the benefits that come with it. Most believers want the benefit and want to neglect the process. You must first be kind to the poor. Be helpful where you can to someone who cannot return the favor. Then you can enjoy being preserved by God.

Today, choose to be kind to someone, especially one that really needs that gesture.

Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought!

These are the word of Baalam, someone who was sent to curse the children of Israel. After trying, he said it was not possible. This was an evil man.

Having received Christ in our lives, we are children of God. We have the right to enjoy what the Israelites enjoyed. We take this text and we put our name in it.

Many people try to bring us down. Some for no reason at all ! The wicked and unreasonable people who live in jealousy and envy. They want to see you defeated and down for reasons best known to them.

The good news is, if you and I are well positioned, yielded to God and live in the counsciousness of the finished work of Christ at the cross, no witchcraft, or sorcery, or any kind of evil can or will ever harm us. It will find not expression.

This does not mean that they won't try to bewitch you. They will, but it will have no effect. What a GOD we serve. He has got us covered! Walk in this knowledge, drink it. Live it. This is our reality and truth.

The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Another form of being poor is being bankrupt of the knowledge of God. This is the highest form of poverty. You can own mansions, vehicles and cars, buildings all over and have be a billion dollar worth but with Christ you are the poorest person their is.

This can only be taken care of by one deciding to know the Word. Interact with the Word. Get to go to conferences and places where the word is being shared. This way, you get knowledge of the word. You hear the Word and keep hearing it which begins to make you wealthy.

A person without material things but is rich in the Word is very wealthy. It is only a matter of time before tangible manifestation happens to his or her life.

The Word is rich. It is knowledgeable. It is wealth itself.

Well, normally you'll think that the Word would say the poor should be helped. I mean, is that not the right thing to do? Of course, the bible says that helping the poor is a way of worship. It is ok to help the poor.

But, our theme scripture says that the poor were preached to! This means that poverty is an ignorance factor. Lack of knowing the truth. When the truth is known, you get to know what to do. We are told that it is God that gives us wisdom to make wealth.

This means that wealth is hidden in the knowledge of the word. When you know the word, you get exposed. Yes, as a poor person you can be helped but that can only go so far. When you get knowledge it is for eternity. What you build lasts and goes to generations.

I encourage you to know the Word. Most of the things you're dealing with will drop off.

Unanswered prayer. See, when God asks us to keep His word in us, it is for our own good. He does not in anyway refuse us to enjoy life. It is for our good because He sees the end from the beginning. He sees what we cannot see. The bible says the ways of man seem good but it's end is destruction.

When He asks that we choose to keep His word in us, it is to mature us and keep us safe from any form of destruction. His word builds and matures someone. It brings light where there has been darkness. It brings understanding. So when one matures , then we can ask Him for something and He will grant it because we are able to handle it. Without His word in us, our prayers will not be answered because among other reasons like ignoring His call to obedience, we are not matured enough to handle what we are asking Him to give us. We have no understanding. This is why some of the prayers of believers are not answered.

It is a choice to make today to start allowing His word to dwell in you. It is for and to your own advantage.

We looked at this yesterday. That God wants a relationship with us and anything we ask shall be granted. If we obey and remain in Him and His word in us.

Today, we look at the answers to our prayers. Most believers do not receive answers to their prayers because they do not fulfill this condition. They live the way they want. They talk the way they want. They behave the way they want and when a need arises, they run to the very person they have been ignoring all this while.

Take it to be you. How would you feel if someone ignores you but runs to you when in need alone? They don't care what you feel when they disobey you, it is none of their business but they are first to come for a solution from you!

This is what we so to God each time we ignore His word. He is a merciful God and that is why in His mercy, some of our prayers do not get answered.

Take for instance the life we live here on earth. We have people who we love and they love us. We spend time with them and we do all we can not to offend them. We have learnt their ways and we know what they like and what they do not like.
With this knowledge, we know how to please them and when they are happy and satisfied, we feel so good.

This is the same thing that happens between we and God. God has given us a condition. If, is a condition. He is so willing to give us what we want and need. After all, He gives rain to the unbelievers as well. But it gets to a point where He craves for a relationship with us.

He says, if we remain in Him. If we obey Him. If we do things that please Him, we will ask anything from Him and He will grant it. He wants His word to remain in us. We do ask He says which will please Him, then just like a parent would reward an obedient child, He will give us anything we ask for.

What does this let you ?

Text : Ephesians 3:13

Title : Benefits of your suffering

Purpose : To let believers know that their suffering of benefit to others

Scripture: Ephesians 3:13.

Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory....

The ways of God are indeed just His ways. I mean, this is Apostle Paul writing while in prison to the people of Ephesus, who were gentiles, telling them not to worry about him. That his suffering is for their glory.

Well, in real sense somes suffering should be their own cup of tea but in the gospel, we believers do not go through suffering for nothing. There are things we go through that are to edify the body of Christ. This is why your perseverance as a believer becomes a consolation and salvation to others. They look at you and see that you have overcome and that becomes the bible they read. They also get strength to overcome their issues.

It was for good course that Apostle Paul was imprisoned. He didn't steal. He only preached the gospel to the gentiles. No wonder the word tells us to count it all joy when we suffer because of the gospel. Our lives should reflect Christ. He also suffered and didn't even say a word. He kept quiet like sheep being taken to the slaughter house.

So you and I, today, should look up to Jesus for the Grace to persevere what we are going through. It is not here to kill us. It is here to be a consolation and salvation to the body of Christ.

Title : Travel light ....2

Purpose : To let believers know that God wants us to be light

Scripture: Hebrews 12:1

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,...

Yesterday we talked of an example of hindrances and sin that easily entangle us. It is unforgivenness. We saw that it is very important for one to forgive another no matter that intensity of hurt they feel from the offenders wrong against them.

Well, it might get hard to forgive. Yes. True. This is so because we try to forgive with our carnal minds. This way you'll fail miserably and might cause even more damage than good.

The easy way to achieve this is by involving the Holy Spirit. Be vulnerable with Him. After all there is nothing He does not know but He wants you to allow Him to help you. Tell Him how you feel. Be truthful. And them tell them your desire to forgive and ask Him to help you. It is a process and you should be patient. You will just one day wake up and realize you greeted them or rather you saw them and you didn't feel any resentment.

Yes. That is the Holy Spirit for you. It might not be unforgivenness that you're struggling with that's hindering your relationship with God. Whatever it is, involve the Holy Spirit. That is a sure what to get results. It is a guarantee.
