Good morning friends. Welcome to today's devotion in Jesus' mighty name.
“Above All, Put On Love”
Text: Colossians 3:14 — “And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”
In this verse, Paul compares Christian virtues to clothing. He tells believers to “put on” compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience — but then he says, “Above all, put on love.”
Love is the outer garment that completes the outfit of a godly life. Without love, every other virtue loses its power and beauty. You can be patient but still unloving. You can be kind but do it without warmth. But when love covers everything, all the other virtues come alive.
Love is what holds the Church together. It heals broken relationships, bridges divisions, and creates harmony where there was once strife. That’s why Paul says love “binds everything together in perfect unity.”
The love Paul speaks of here is not just emotion — it’s Christ-like love: selfless, forgiving, and active. It’s the same love that led Jesus to the cross, the same love that forgives us daily, and the same love that God calls us to extend to others.
Let love be your first response — before anger, judgment, or complaint.
Ask yourself daily: “Am I clothing myself with love?”
Where there is division, choose to be the one who brings unity through love.
Lord Jesus, thank You for clothing me in Your love.
Help me to put on love each day, to see others through Your eyes,
and to walk in unity with my brothers and sisters in Christ.
May Your love shine through me in all I say and do.
In Your name I pray, Amen🙏🏾
