Update...Saint Mary of Egypt Orthodox Mission and Refuge of Kenya

As we prepare for a visit from the Patriarchal Exarch, we begin efforts to build our baptismal font. The estimate we received is as follows:

30 bags of cement: $300.00
1000 bricks: $120.00
6 tons of ballast @$65.00
3 tons of sand @$65.00
Labor cost: $150.00
Total: $700.00

Yesterday, Father Antipas, Father Anthony, one of our labororers, and Mzee Shadrack met to discuss the project. This font will be able to serve any of the surrounding parishes who have yet to build one. It is expected that when we complete the font and build a proper temple, that Saint Mary of Egypt Orthodox Mission and Refuge of Kenya will become the spiritual center of the Kakamega Orthodox Deanery. Please consider making a donation towards the construction of the baptismal font. It will serve to bless many into the faith through holy sacrament of baptism!

Saint Mary of Egypt Orthodox Mission and Refuge of Kenya

We are blessed to show an upcoming video of the completion of the roof! Stay tuned!

All last week, through the love and kindness of a heart like yours, we have finished the roof on the mission rectory. The progress we have made, despite some who doubted we'd ever get this far, is proof that God loves the simple and the humble. Our construction crew has diligently taken the funds raised and worked hard and skillfully to help us continue with God's help and your help to get further, faster than we anticipated.

Orthodox Africa and Saint Mary of Egypt Orthodox Mission and Refuge of Kenya are dedicated to establishing self-sustaining missions across all Africa. These missions need your support to become self-supporting. Please consider helping us create a new frontier in African missions by helping a start-up mission take their first steps towards independence.
