God calls every believer to honour Him through sacrificial living. True sacrifice goes beyond money; it includes our time, obedience, worship, service, talents, and wholehearted devotion. When we honour God with our sacrifices, He is pleased and releases His blessings upon our lives.
1. Honour God with Your Substance
God deserves the first and the best of what He has blessed us with.
Scriptures:
Proverbs 3:9–10 – "Honour the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops..."
Malachi 3:10 – Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse.
Lesson: Giving to God is an act of worship and demonstrates trust in His provision.
2. Sacrifice Requires Obedience
God values obedience more than empty offerings.
Scriptures:
1 Samuel 15:22 – "To obey is better than sacrifice."
John 14:15 – "If you love Me, keep My commandments."
Lesson: A surrendered and obedient heart is the greatest sacrifice we can offer God.
3. Offer Yourself as a Living Sacrifice
God desires our entire lives dedicated to Him.
Scriptures:
Romans 12:1–2 – Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God.
Galatians 2:20 – "It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me."
Lesson: Our daily lifestyle should reflect God's holiness and purpose.
4. Sacrifice Through Praise and Worship
Praise should continue even during difficult seasons.
Scriptures:
Hebrews 13:15 – Offer continually the sacrifice of praise.
Psalm 100:4 – Enter His gates with thanksgiving.
Lesson: Worship offered in faith glorifies God regardless of circumstances.
5. Sacrifice Through Service
Serving God and others is a pleasing offering before Him.
Scriptures:
Colossians 3:23–24 – Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart.
Mark 10:45 – Jesus came not to be served but to serve.
Lesson: Every act of service done for God's glory is a sacrifice He honours.
6. God Rewards Faithful Sacrifice
God never forgets sacrifices made with sincere hearts.
Scriptures:
Luke 6:38 – Give, and it will be given to you.
Hebrews 6:10 – God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and love.
Lesson: Sacrifices made in faith bring spiritual growth, favour, and eternal rewards in God's perfect timing.
