Resurrection Sunday at Providence Baptist ✝️🕊️✨

This past Resurrection Sunday, we had the great joy of witnessing two sisters and a brother go down into the waters of baptism — a public testimony of their faith in Christ. We also warmly welcomed them into membership here at Providence.

We praise our Lord Jesus Christ, who promised, “I will build My church” — a promise we see beautifully fulfilled in the salvation of sinners and their addition to the local body of believers.

We were further blessed with an Easter Cantata, a sweet time of singing joyful praises and walking through the Scriptures together, reflecting on the mighty works of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. Through His death and resurrection, He has accomplished for us propitiation, justification, righteousness, reconciliation, adoption, preservation, and glorification. Even now, He lives to make intercession for us — and in all these things, we glory.

Our brother Daniel Deba preached from Titus 2:11–14, proclaiming Christ who gave Himself for us — to redeem and purify a people for His own possession. Here we find the true motivation for godly living: that Christ took our place and gave Himself for us.

May these truths be ever written upon our hearts.

Evangelism at Gatong'ora over Easter weekend 📖✝️

This past weekend has been a full and blessed one for us at Providence Baptist Church. Together with members of the Nairobi Evangelistic Team (NairET), we went out into the highways and byways of Gatong'ora with one clear aim — to proclaim the good news of the Marriage Feast of the Lamb, calling all to turn from sin, be cleansed by the blood of Christ, and come prepared to the Feast.

We thank the Lord for the gracious opportunity to preach His Gospel to a lost and dying world. We are grateful for His sustaining strength throughout the two days — in personal evangelism, the distribution of Gospel tracts, and the open-air preaching of His Word. We also rejoice in the work of His Spirit, both in our hearts and, we trust, in the hearts of those who heard the message of salvation.

Our prayer is that the Word sown would bear lasting fruit, bringing many to a true and saving knowledge of God. May the Lord continue to prosper Gospel efforts in Gatong'ora, in Ruiru, and throughout the world — all for the glory of His great Name. Join in praying this with us.

Lord’s Day at Providence Baptist ⛪️

Each gathering for fellowship on Sunday is a solemn and yet joyful reminder of that which was accomplished at the empty tomb on that first Lord’s Day. 🌅✝️🌅

Our Lord is risen, and so we gather with glad hearts to praise His great and glorious Name—to sing His praises 🎶, read the Scriptures 📖, to sit under the preaching of the Word, lift our prayers before Him🙏🏾, and to rejoice together as saints redeemed by His precious blood.

This Lord’s Day, young and old alike sat side by side to hear the proclamation of the Gospel and its application to their lives.

Our pastor, Antony, preached on “The Character of Kingdom Citizens” from Gospel of Matthew 18 in our ongoing series, “The King and His Kingdom.” 👑

From the passage, we were exhorted toward humility and true conversion, warned of the dangers of pride, and called to a radical pursuit of holiness—marked by a sincere hatred and cutting off of sin in all its heinousness. We were also reminded of the beauty of brotherly love that seeks restoration, and of the great debt we have been forgiven—an undeserved mercy that ought to move us to freely forgive others.

It was truly a blessed and holy day of worship, and we give all praise to the Lord for it.
We pray that He would continue to be gracious to us—blessing our gatherings and furthering His work here in Gatong'ora, all for His glory alone. 🙌🏾
