Today's Verse
“For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His steadfast love toward those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far He removes our transgressions from us.”
Psalm 103:11-12

Have you ever forgotten something or left something you owned behind by accident? You get that sinking feeling in your stomach when you realize you’ve forgotten it, then you immediately start thinking about whether it is possible to go back and get it and whether it is worth the cost in time and effort. If it is an inexpensive or replaceable item, like a bowl or shirt, it may be better off left behind and just forgotten about. Whereas a personal or valuable item, like a camera or piece of jewelry, would be retrieved at all costs and hard to forget about until it is back in our possession. When we repent of our sins, God is so happy He forgets about them right away. Like leaving a shirt behind in Nairobi when traveling upcountry, He wants us to leave our sins on the altar and forget they even occurred like He does, releasing all of our guilt, anger, embarrassment and regrets associated with the sin. His love and mercy are that great and constant.

Today's Prayer
My Lord, Your mercy is limitless. You forgive and forget my sins as soon as I say “I’m sorry” for them. Help me to also forgive myself and forget, so I can move on in Your love.
Amen.

Restoration of Your Soul
🍞“He came as a witness to testify to the light, so that all might believe through him.”
John 1:7

🤔Have you ever watched a house restoration project whether in person or on television (talk of Extreme Makeover, Home Edition)? It’s really an interesting endeavor. Gifted craftsmen take an old run down house and foresee great things within its walls. They then combine their incredible talents to restore life and beauty better than ever before. The finished product is truly a breathtaking sight. When we come into the presence of God and the light of His great love, we are run down vessels. We are worn out, and overcome by sin, life, and the cares of this world. Yet, Jesus the Master Craftsman sees great things in us. It is through His perfect blood that we are cleansed of all of our sins and our burdens are lifted. He gives us fellowship with other believers, strengthens and restores us to be His breathtaking new masterpiece in which He is greatly pleased.

🙏🏼My Father, thank You for the cleansing power of Your blood. It is through its light that I find new strength and life, and a new endurance for tomorrow.
Amen.

Challenging Journey
🍞“He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”
Micah 6:8

🤔Have you ever watched or have had the opportunity to participate in an obstacle course? The person is challenged to get to the finish line successfully. However, they must work on a series of obstacles to get to the next step toward their goal. Each one is a little more rugged than the previous one. But, it builds strength, endurance, and the heart of a true winner. When we begin our walk with the Lord, it is truly a fulfilling, yet challenging journey. We must bring honor to His presence and our bond with Him. This is accomplished through carrying the Word in our hearts, serving Him, working on the purpose that He has for us, and living each moment with His love. There will be obstacles. But, when we are equipped with the shield of faith and trust, each one will be a stepping stone of strength to success with Him!

🙏🏼Father, I want and desire a strong and rugged walk with You. I want to live for You, serve You, and bring great honor to You always.
Amen.

His Glorious Joy
🍞“Although you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and rejoice with and indescribable and glorious joy, for you are receiving the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”
1 Peter 1:8-9

🤔It is a great reminder that joy is everywhere if we are looking for it. It is a perfect reminder that through Him we receive a great and powerful faith. We receive salvation for our souls through embracing His loving arms. There are always times when we are going to want to see where God is at work in our lives and we can’t. Sometimes God’s plan is just hard to see and sometimes God Himself is just hard to see. However there is always one gift that we can see and it comes in many different forms. In a smile, in giving a helping hand, or even in the weather. That gift is His glorious joy.

🙏🏼Father God, I long for Your spirit of joy in my life. I know it’s there, I just struggle finding it in my everyday life. Give me opportunities to embrace Your joy today.
Amen.

The Hope of Heaven
🍞”He will wipe every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; mourning and crying and pain will be no more, for the first things have passed away.”
Revelation 21:4

🤔Heaven is a place that we all hope to go when we die, but is it something we really look forward to now? Humans tend to fear the unknown and there is much about Heaven that we don’t know. This can make some people nervous about going there. Some people even think that Heaven will be boring! The above verse alone gives us enough reasons to want to be there, but think about this as well: God created all the good things in this world, such as sunsets and snowcapped mountains. This world is fallen, yet we still see so much beauty. It only makes sense that Heaven will be even better! We truly have no reason to fear or not look forward to Heaven. We can be certain that it is a place filled with the love and beauty of the Creator.

🙏🏼Beautiful Savior, thank You for making a way for us to join You in Heaven one day. May we look forward to that day and may it be an anchor of hope when life gets us down. In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
