STOP HIDING — FIND YOUR MOUNTAIN AND SHINE
God never called His people to hide.
He called us to shine.
Jesus didn’t say, “You are the candle under the bed.”
He said, “You are the light of the world.”
And just in case we missed it, He added, “A city set on a hill cannot be hidden” (Matthew 5:14–16).
The meaning of this is that if you are truly walking in God’s purpose, hiding will actually be stressful for you. Light suffers when it is concealed.
Let’s be honest:
Many believers are busy praying for influence while actively avoiding visibility.
We want Joseph’s throne but not Joseph’s prison.
We desire Esther’s crown but not Esther’s public appearance.
We shout “Use me, Lord!” and whisper “But don’t expose me.”
Yet God has never worked with hidden vessels.
Moses was called from the wilderness to confront Pharaoh.
Joseph was moved from the prison to the palace.
Esther was positioned in the palace, not the prayer room alone.
Daniel wasn’t shining in the synagogue; he shone in the government.
Jesus didn’t disciple only in secret; He taught on mountains, streets, boats, and courts.
Influence is not accidental.
It is assigned.
Every believer is designed to shine in a specific territory; a mountain of influence. For some, it’s media. For others, business, education, arts, governance, family, ministry, or technology.
Here’s the danger:
If you don’t identify your mountain, you will waste your time and strength climbing hills God never sent you to.
You’ll be fighting battles you were never ordained to win.
You’ll be frustrated, tired, and comparing yourself with people who are simply on their mountain while you’re trespassing on theirs.
Not every anointing works everywhere.
David was a champion on the battlefield but almost a casualty in Saul’s armour (1 Samuel 17). Wrong location + wrong tools = unnecessary struggle.
God does not scatter light randomly.
He positions it strategically.
So stop hiding under the excuse of “humility.”
True humility is obedience, not invisibility.
Ask yourself:
Where does my burden naturally flow?
Where does my gift speak loudest?
Where do I make the most impact with the least stress?
That’s your mountain.
You don’t glorify God by hiding your light.
You glorify Him by shining where He planted you.
THE CHARGE:
This week, stop apologizing for your light.
Stop running from visibility.
Seek God deliberately, identify your mountain clearly, and step into it boldly.
Climb what God assigned.
Occupy till He comes (Luke 19:13).
And let your light force the world to glorify your Father in heaven.
