By the grace of God the General Secretary of Church Army Africa participated in an intensive mobilization and training of Missioners exercise for Nairobi 2026 Mission scheduled for August 2026 in partnership with East Africa Revival Fellowship.
Friday 1st May-Nyanza Region (Kisumu), 2nd May-Western Region (Mumias), 3rd May-North Rift (Eldoret) and 4th may-Central Lift (Nakuru).

Church Army’s mission and training mandate is based on the Great Commission; “Therefore, GO....” (Matthew 28:18-20).

The focus of the Great Commission, Preaching and teaching God's word (discipleship) informs the vision the Church Army Africa and that of our founder who pioneered training of Church ministers for effective mission and evangelism. He believed that the mission field is beyond the four walls of the Church amongst the lost, the least and the last. He got concerned that the Church wasn't concerned about the people who didn't go to church and neither did it have any intensional discipleship programs.
Unfortunately the same concerns are still prominent today.

Over the years, CAA has been training and equipping the local churches in practical skills for evangelism and holistic transformation on the basis of the HEAL concept (Health, Education, Advocacy ND Leveraging wealth Creation.

This consists of addressing all the dimensions of humanity in the light of God's kingdom.
The training in Mumias was graced by The Rt. Rev. George, the Bishop of Bungoma

The essence of Evangelizing Nairobi today
1. The Great Commission mandate "Go and make disciples of all the nations. Nairobi is dominated by people from all Nations and Regions
2. It's anchored on the example of Christ and the disciples... moving about the cities preaching and teaching God's word ( Matt. 9:35)
3. Population: The harvest is plentiful in Nairobi but the laborers are few (cF. Matt. 9:37). The majority of the people in Nairobi do not go to church...more than 3M of about 5M.
4. It's impact⁰ in Nairobi

By the grace of God the General Secretary of Church Army Africa got an opportunity to participate in the capacity building one week intensive workshop for the Clergy, evangelists and lay readers in the Turkana missionary area under the All Saints Cathedral Diocese. This was in partnership with the Anglican Development Services (ADS).
Church Army’s mission and training mandate is based on the Great Commission; “Therefore, GO....” (Matthew 28:18-20).
More so, the work of the Church Army is anchored on the vision of our founder who pioneered training of Church ministers for effective contemporary mission work. He believed that the mission field is beyond the four walls of the Church amongst the lost, the least and the last. Over the years, CAA has been training and equipping the local churches in transformational and integral ministry through the HEAL concept.
Any significant transformation is based on Luke 2:52 addressing all the dimensions of humanity.
The guiding principle is: “Are we preparing the church to address the emerging contextual realities?”
Kindly pray with us since implementation of this mandate not only requires much discernment but also enormous resources.

Transforming the Reach: Equipping the Frontlines in Nambale
Today marks a powerful milestone in our mission to ignite evangelism across the continent. Church Army Africa had the distinct honor of engaging in a strategic briefing with over 200 Lay Readers and Evangelists from the Anglican Diocese of Nambale.
This gathering was more than just a meeting; it was a mobilization of the saints.

Led by our General Secretary, Rev. Capt. Dr. Danson K. Mwangi, alongside Rev. Collins Nyawade (Dean, Carlile College School of Theology) and Capt. Bernard Irungu (Missions Director, Church Army Africa), we spent the day reinforcing our core mandate: to enable the Church to evangelize her immediate context.

We are deeply grateful to our host, Rt. Rev. Isaiah Obuya, the Diocesan Bishop of Nambale, for his visionary leadership and for opening the doors for this collaboration.
The Commitment

As these 200+ leaders are deployed back to their respective parishes by the Bishop, Church Army Africa remains steadfast in our commitment to:
Equip them with practical tools for the Great Commission.
Empower them to lead with spiritual fire and strategic clarity.
Deploy them as catalysts for transformation within their communities.
When we empower the local evangelist, we reach the heart of the nation. Together, we are ensuring that the Gospel is not just heard, but experienced in every corner of the Diocese.

Back to the Roots: A Powerful Day for Church Army Kenya!
What an incredible and spirit-filled day, Yesterday as we held our Church Army Kenya Captains Meeting! It was a beautiful blend of fellowship and strategy, hosted both physically at our Jogoo Road Headquarters and virtually for those across the miles.
There is a unique, undeniable energy when Captains return to "where it all began." Walking the grounds of our HQs serves as a powerful reminder of our initial calling and the rigorous training that shaped our mission to serve. It’s more than just a meeting; it’s a homecoming that rekindles the fire of our ministry.
🌍 Representing the Length and Breadth of the Mission
We were honored to have representatives from a diverse range of Dioceses, proving that though we are many, we are one body in Christ:
Nairobi & All Saints
Thika & Mt. Kenya South
Mt. Kenya Central & Murang'a South
Makueni & Machakos
Maseno East & Southern Nyanza
Kajiado, Nambale & Marsabit
Specialized Ministries: Prisons Chaplaincy
💡 The Takeaway
When Captains come together to share experiences and sharpen one another, the impact is felt in every corner of the nation. We return to our stations refreshed, focused, and ready to continue the work of the Gospel.

A Double Celebration in Kenol!
What an incredible milestone! Celebrating a 10th Anniversary alongside the climax of a mission week creates a powerful "Ebenezar" moment—looking back at a decade of God’s faithfulness while actively pushing forward into new territory.
Having Rt. Rev. Julius Karanu lead the celebrations adds significant spiritual weight to the occasion, marking a decade of growth for the Diocese of Muranga South.
The Significance of a 10th Anniversary Mission
Legacy & Launchpad: A 10th anniversary isn't just a finish line; it’s a launchpad for the next decade of evangelism.
Episcopal Leadership: The Bishop’s presence underscores the unity between the Cathedral's local ministry and the wider Diocesan mission.
A Decade of Growth: From a foundation to a cathedral, this celebration honors the "living stones"—the people who built the community.
To God be the glory! 🇰🇪🙌

A high-level consultative meeting was held today at the Provincial Headquarters, marking a significant milestone in the enduring partnership between Church Army Africa (CAA) and the The Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK).

Strengthening Ties for Community Transformation
It has been a week of strategic alignment and visionary dialogue at the Church Army Africa Headquarters. We are thrilled to announce a deepening partnership between Church Army Africa and the National Council of Churches of Kenya - NCCK
🗓️ A Week of Purposeful Engagement
Led By The General Secretary, Church Army Africa , Rev. Capt. Dr. Dan Mwangi , The journey began on Wednesday, 25th February, when we had the distinct honor of hosting the NCCK General Secretary, Rev. Canon Chris Kinyanjui. Our initial high-level meeting laid the groundwork for a shared vision of holistic impact across the region.
Following that momentum, on Friday, 27th February, we welcomed a technical delegation led by the NCCK Programmes Director and her team. This follow-up session moved us from vision to action as we refined the pillars of our collaboration.
✨ Our Shared Commitment: Fostering Dignity
Together, Church Army Africa and NCCK are gearing up to transform lives through:
Dignified Livelihoods: Implementing sustainable programs that empower individuals and families.
Strategic Placement: Church Army Africa serving as a key placement partner for impactful community interventions.
Holistic Training: Leveraging our expertise as a training partner across diverse professional and ministerial fields.
"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor." — Ecclesiastes 4:9
🚀 The Best is Yet to Come
This is more than just a collaboration; it is a movement toward restored dignity and community resilience. We have resolved to walk this path together, and there is greater news on the horizon.
We invite you to keep this partnership in your prayers as we finalize the frameworks that will bring hope and tangible change to those we serve.

Celebrating a Legacy of Faith: Rt. Rev. Capt. John Okude
Today, the Church Church Army Africa family joins the Ack Diocese Of Katakwa and the entire body of Christ in celebrating the retirement of a true General in the faith, Rt. Rev. Capt. John Okude.
As he transitions from his role after a decade of visionary leadership as the Bishop of Katakwa, we reflect on a journey defined by humility, the Great Commission, and an unwavering commitment to the Gospel.
🌟 A Journey of Impact
Bishop Okude’s ministry has been a testament to the "Church Army spirit"—evangelistic at heart and transformative in action. We celebrate his incredible milestones:
10 Years of Episcopal Grace: Leading the Diocese of Katakwa with wisdom, fostering spiritual growth, and expanding the reach of the church.
A Lifetime of Ordained Ministry: Decades of selfless service, from his roots as a Captain in the Church Army to the high office of a Bishop.
Empowering the Next Generation: His dedication to mentorship has raised countless leaders who continue to serve across East Africa. Especially through the Carlile College (Church Army Africa) Katakwa Satellite center. Thankyou Bishop John.
🙏 Our Prayer and Well Wishes
Bishop, you have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, and you have kept the faith. As you enter this new season of rest and "retirement" (though we know a soldier of Christ never truly stops!), we wish you:
Renewed Strength for the days ahead.
Abundant Joy as you spend more time with family.
Continued Grace as you remain a pillar of wisdom for the Church.
"His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’" — Matthew 25:23
