Today, Caritas Nairobi brought together stakeholders from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock Development and Fisheries, Kenya Dairy Board, Kiambu County Government, lead dairy farmers, and parish representatives under the Enhancing Dairy Farming Sustainability and Productivity in Kiambu County project.

Implemented in partnership with CESVI and funded by CEI - Conferenza Episcopale Italiana, the project aims to strengthen dairy farming livelihoods through training, technology, improved infrastructure, climate-smart practices, and youth empowerment in Limuru and Lari sub-counties.

Together, we are building a more resilient, productive, and inclusive dairy sector in Kiambu County.

Today, Caritas Nairobi hosted the 17th PROMIC Annual General Meeting (Promotion of Micro Enterprises), bringing together vibrant & visionary women from parishes across the Archdiocese of Nairobi guided by the theme, ‘Empowering Women & Strong Families for a Transformed Society’.

The AGM commenced with a beautiful Holy Mass led by His Lordship, Rt. Rev. Obed Muriungi, OFMConv., and con-celebrated by Rev. Fr. Fredrick Chege and Rev. Peter Kiarie.

His Lordship reminded us that "a society that uplifts women is a society that uplifts humanity." He further encouraged the women to stand firm, support one another, and keep hope alive.

Thank you to all the amazing women who joined us today. Together, we are building stronger families and a transformed society!

Today, the Archdiocesan education Office held their annual Catholic Education Walk across all the ADN zones.
This year’s theme is: “Forming leaders and builders of peace guided by Christ” (inspired by Luke 13:14).

The sole purpose of the walk is to fundraise for the office activities and create awareness of catholic education which is holistic in nature, value based and is centered on the formation of the whole person.

The walk spanned routes across Nairobi and Kiambu counties, with Caritas Nairobi in conjunction with Caritas Micro-Finance Bank flagging off the Gatundu zone route, commencing from St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kiganjo and concluding at the Martyrs of Uganda catholic church in Gatundu.

Thank you to everyone who stepped out, donated, and walked with us today! Together, we are nurturing the peacebuilders of tomorrow. Archdiocese of Nairobi

To serve others well, we must first check in with ourselves. Caritas Nairobi’s Relief and Charitable Centres Program hosted its second capacity-building training for the dedicated teams of staff at Rescue Dada Centre and Kwetu Home of Peace.

The sessions were facilitated by experts from the Amani Counselling Centre, focusing on Self-Awareness and Stress Management.

By equipping the staff with emotional resilience and balance, we ensure that every child in our homes receives care that is patient, present, and full of compassion.

Today, under the gender & youth development program hosted the 10th Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the Social Development Program (SDP). The event was anchored by the theme: “Champions of Change: Empowering Men to Transform Communities.”

The Holy Mass was led by Archbishop Philip Anyolo, who encouraged the SDP members to uphold the Gospels of charity and love and urged them to maintain the solidarity of Christ.

In addition to the spiritual nourishment, members were engaged in a vital health talk facilitated by Rev. Fr. Col. Dr. Moses Karanja, emphasizing the importance of holistic well-being in leadership.

Focusing on the essential role men play in sustainable development, the Executive Director, Fr. Peter Kiarie, emphasized that by equipping members with tools for leadership and character development, the program aims to create a ripple effect of positive change. This transformation, he noted, begins at the household level and extends across the entire region.
