In July 1, 2006 three families gathered for the first time at Rocks Academy in Ongata Rongai. It was the families of Joseph & Terry Sigilai; George & Nancy Onchangwa; and Tom & Eunice Opondo that formed the first membership of Magadi Road Church of Christ. Having secured rental premise formerly Rocks Academy evangelism was given priority and the church daily expanded in its membership. Years to co
me, the church developed good relations with the community and mature churches locally and abroad. It was a moment of gratitude when Brentwood Hills Church of Christ, Nashville agreed to partner with us. The result of this partnership brought increased evangelism, and the church was able to receive one-time gift for the land purchase. We moved into the land property in 2007 when all required land documents had been prepared through a lawyer. Land issues in Nairobi brings a lot of challenges to churches and related institutions where most of them pay rent. We are blessed to own land property in the city. Due to a lot of mobility in the city, some have relocated to other cities. Currently, the membership is about 30 adults and 18 children and increase with the presence of the three holidays in a year. As Kenya Government requires our existence as a congregation was to be linked to or affiliated to REGISTERED RELIGIOUS BODY. We exist as an affiliate of KENYA CHURCH OF CHRIST with over 1200 congregations. We had to reflect this in the Land Title Deed and other church records. We exist in this name βKENYA CHURCH OF CHRIST (MAGADI ROAD)β. There are temporary buildings on site. That is, metal sheet house for worship for Sunday services
