In the front lines of the enemy’s camp

Here is an example of what the Missionaries go through for the sake of the gospel

The The Ostewigs family went to a small village in Bolivia as missionaries in 1950s

Trying to adjust to some hostile conditions the Ostewigs youngest son succumbed to illness in her mother’s hands

As it was the tradition of the Ayore community, they expected Helen Ostewigs to weep as a way to show grief

Instead, Helen in a lot of pain remained calm and clung to her savior and so did not weep

She told them she did not have to cry because one day she will see her child again because those who believe in Jesus will live again

Carolinadaté, an Ayoré woman was so much touched gave her life to Jesus

75 years later, Maxine one of the other missionaries who went to Bolivia together with the Oestwigs family, recently went back to evaluate the impact of their missionary work

While translating the testimonies of the Ayore believers to English this statement reminded him of the sad event

“We were living in the village ... long ago when the baby died, and that is when I began to believe, and I went on believing.” –.
It was Carolinadaté giving a testimony of how she received Christ

This was indeed a ‘fruit’ because a little baby boy died in the jungles of Bolivia.

Hey,

My name is James,

Did you know that out of 1.4 billion people in Asia, Almost One billion of them don’t know Jesus

We are in urgent need for your financial support towards raising 8,000 USD to support 321 part-time missionaries to reach 1,000 adults with the gospel of Christ, in the mainland China over the next 30 days

How it All Started…

I first visited Asia on business trip 5 years ago…Almost every shop I entered I could see an idol ( god) placed conspicuously by the doorway or some other place within the premises

I finished my business, and took one week to visit nearby towns and villages away from the city and interacted with the local communities

I played with jovial and curious children, shared meals with families, and spent time with the elderly men and women

The Chinese people opened doors for me and I dined with them, one question however lingered in my mind through and through

How much would Jesus desire to come to the Chinese peoples’ lives and make a dwelling in their hearts?

As I stood watching a Chinese man loading my heavy cargo with folk lift to a shipping container, I felt even a heavier burden to bring Jesus to Asia loading in my heart

The Assignment

God has laid a burden in my heart to;

• Mobilize 1 billion-Prayer hours globally for Souls harvest in Asia

• Reach 100,000 Asians for souls harvest annually

The work has already began. I give God all the glory

Early this year, I moved to Hong-Kong to mobilize a team of Christians working in the mainland China who are willing to volunteer in sharing the love of Christ with Children, and the local communities on part time basis as missionaries

We have 321 volunteers across mainland China majority working as English Teachers

How we’re supporting them for effective outreach

We are supporting this team on the ground through the following activities

• Equipping the volunteers to reach at least 100,000 Asians Annually through personalized training and coaching

• Developing and distributing Christian-based English Teaching Resources

• Co-coordinating small groups fellowships for the volunteers for encouragement

• Mobilizing Christian virtual prayer banking for the 1 billion prayers-hours for Asia

• Forging mission collaborations and coordinating fundraising efforts to meet the financial and other resource requirements for effective Christian Mission in Asia

The need

We are in urgent need of 8,000 USD for the first month of our project even as we believe for God’s provision for the subsequent months

These funds are intended to cater for (transport and an evening snack) our current network of 321 volunteers

This great team offer at least 1 hour each on a daily basis for missionary work after their day job

We facilitate their movement by providing transport reimbursement on weekly basis and other out of pocket expenses (A snack) towards their outreach missions

How Effective is our outreaches

By God’s grace we’re one of the most cost effective Christians missionaries in Asia with an average cost of only 8 USD per soul reached through our marketplace-approach to the mission work

We are sharing the good news with our friends and neighbors through non-conventional and ‘non-confrontational’ ways, by showing love and care towards the locals by simply being social and friendly to them

The dedication and passion of our team to win souls for Christ is commendable, and their understanding of the terrain and long experience in engaging with the locals gives them an added advantage

We honor God through our service and we affirm to the ECFA standards for financial accountability, transparency, fundraising and governance

The founder, Stream of Hope ministry, A Christian inter-denominational not-for profit organization registered in my home country Kenya

I’m currently in the front line co-coordinating this mission in China to make sure it succeeds for the glory of God
