Modest dressing is dressing in a way that is intended to avoid encouraging s*xual attention.
Immodest dressing
Immodest dressing is dressing in a way that tends to shock or offend people.
It is the deliberate exposure of one’s body to cause lust due to ignorance or wickedness.
Factors to consider in determining what to wear
When we wake up in the morning or we want to go somewhere for example a wedding event or our places of work, we have to make conscious decision on what we ought to wear.
Some of the factors to consider when determining what to wear are the weather, your occupation, modesty factor, and above all God’s law.
For example; you are not going to wear sleeveless blouse if it is cold, or you are not going to wear a suit if you are going to do yard work.
It is a sad fact that the society today and the world in general is confused in regards to the clothing issue. Sexually provocative attires is the way of the day. Instead of being rebuked, it is often encouraged.
Any attempt to condemn immodest dressing leads to rejection, hatred, name calling, and terms such as it is none of your business, my dress my choice, it doesn’t matter how I dress and even abusive language.
These negative statements may lead the teachers of this subject to avoid the subject all together.
This topic is very unpleasant to teach about both to the teacher and to the hearers, because people who like to dress immodestly get angry and accuse the teachers of having a dirty mind, and that alone with the anger causes a lot of people to avoid the subject all together.
But if we have to be pleasing to God, we have to teach on modest dressing for Christian women.
Beauty is not sensuality
There is a difference between beauty and sensuality.
Beauty is not sensuality. Women nowadays dress for the sake of lust and not for the sake of beauty. Women who dress for the sake of beauty cover their bodies appropriately.
Women who dress for the sake of lust expose their bodies without discretion.
There is a judgment coming from the throne seat to seducers with the attire of an harlot in the streets and in the churches.
The word of God is clear in regards to the clothing issue. But the word of God is often violated.
Bible verses that talk about Modest dressing
1Ti 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
1Ti 2:10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
The Holy Spirit is instructing women through Apostle Paul to adorn themselves in modest apparel. This is a clothing style that is modest and advises them to display a sense of shame.
You have to agree with me that the modern day women have lost the ability to blush.
Nowadays women get ashamed when they blush. The modern day women don't feel embarrassed with the exposure of their body for the public to see and lust which is a violation of the above scripture.
The society today is full of immodest women. Immodest dressing can have negative eternal implications on both the person dressing provocatively and the people around them.
Jer 6:15 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.
Jer 6:16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
Jer 6:17 Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.
Jer 6:18 Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them.
Jer 6:19 Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it.
Immodest dressing is the same as po*******hy
It is strange that some people are against po*******hy but they have allowed po*******hy in the streets, the churches, and their homes by allowing women to expose their nakedness before them.
Public nakedness falls in the same category with po*******hy. Sexual sin, is s*xual sin.
The word of God tells us to love the old paths that are good and walk therein. The women of the earlier generations didn’t dress the way the women of these generation dress.
The lord is telling you to go back to the dressing style embraced by women of the earlier generations that was good and acceptable.
The devil has brainwashed the world and mostly women to think that immodest dressing is cool and fashionable.
If you walk in the streets and look at the billboards, the media; which includes the television shows, the music and the movies, you will realize that the society has been brainwashed to think that immodest dressing is fashionable especially among the young women.
God is offended by immodest clothing.
Demons enter through immodest dressing
The clothing styles that are designed today all come from demonic realm, and it is an open door for unclean spirits into the lives of women who practice this form of s*xual immorality.
Anything that is an abomination to God is an open door for unclean spirits. The word of God tells us that lascivious people shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
The word lascivious means lustful or anything that arouses s*xual desires.
Gal 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Gal 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Gal 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
I have seen girls on the altar praising and singing for God but their dressing style shows that they are not changed.
If what you proclaim with your lips does not represent how you live, then you are lying and the truth is not in you.
When you accept the lord Jesus Christ with your whole heart, your attitude will change and you will be a renewed creature in Christ Jesus. Anyone that is trully born again is a new creature.
How can you profess to be a born again Christian woman and you wear immodest apparels? this shows that you are proclaiming to be a follower of Jesus Christ with your lips but your heart is far from him because you are unwilling to keep the commandments.
You need to be holy to please God. Immodest dressing is the of the devil.
Causes of immodest Dressing
These are some of the causes of immodest Dressing.
Ignorance
One of the major cause of immodest dressing is ignorance. Majority of the women who dress immodestly are unaware of the havoc they cause by dressing immodestly.
They do not realize that men are visually stimulated by sight. Some of the girls do not know that they cause lust and men view them as s*xual objects.
The girls who are into immodesty business, do not understand that lust is a sin, and a person who is lusting after them can lose his soul.
Jesus Christ told us that whoever looks at a woman and lusts after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If immodest women knew this fact they would cover up.
Demonic Spirits
Another cause of immodest dressing are evil spirits. The evil spirits inspire the fashion designers to make the immodest clothing styles that we see today.
These demons live in them, they own them and they possess them. They inspire them to make provocative clothing styles that will cause lust and lead many souls to hell.
When a girl desires to dress immodestly or is already dressing immodestly, the demons that are in her body become empowered and possess the mind and destroy any form of moral value that she possesses.
This will lead the girl to buy and wear more provocative dresses and in turn her behavior will welcome more demons into her life.
If immodest women continue this behavior they will end up walking naked in the streets thinking that it is fashionable.
We have seen satanic musicians singing on stage with underwear and high heels which is the setting stage for other demon possessed women to start behaving in the same way.
Sexual immorality includes indecent dressing, and if lust is a sin, indecent dressing is a sin also.
Wickedness
While some girls dress immodestly due to ignorance, there are other women who know the truth that immodest apparel causes lust and they go on and purchase this immodest attires.
When you tell them about Mathew 5:28 on regards to the issue of lust they say they don’t care, this shows low regards to the souls of other people.
Low Self Esteem
Some girls have a low self-esteem and they want attention, and when they see worldly men going after immodest women, they desire to be like them, and they follow their footsteps and in turn get the same negative attention which causes the society to explode with immodest clothing.
Fear of Rejection
Most women who dress immodestly fear being rejected by other immodest women and in turn start dressing whorishly in order to fit in the crowd.
Deception
Girls dress immodestly because they have been deceived by the devil. The devil knows the mind of women more than us, and he has made immodest apparel to appear fashionable in the eyes of women.
Because women think immodest dressing is fashionable, they have no desire to dress modestly.
This has been the greatest downfall for women, they tend to choose what appears to be good without thinking of the repercussions that might arise due to the actions they take.
Women have been brainwashed to think that exposing their bodies in public is fashionable.
The woman has been deceived by the devil to dress immodestly and the end result is the man being caught in this snare by being forced into lusting after the woman's nakedness and both the woman and the man appear as sinners before God.
Exposure.
Parents have to be careful on what they expose their kids to at an early age.
For instance, some parents need to realize that at a certain age there are some places that their young daughters should not go, and there are some friends they cannot be close to.
This might sound harsh but the saying, show me your friends and I will tell you who you are is very true.
Parents should also regulate the programs that their kids are watching, if they watch immodest women, trust me they will also begin to dress immodestly.
Upbringing.
This is mostly caused by the way the child is brought up and what she is exposed to at an early age.
As we know, the biggest influence on kids is television. Most parents don’t bother to control what their kids are watching and learning.
For instance some music videos are not appropriate for children because it has become a n**e affair, and since it is played in the minds of these kids, they begin to think it is normal and acceptable especially when no adult is preventing them from watching and telling them it is not right.
Parents and older siblings also have to be careful with their own dressing because kids tend to emulate their elders.
Another thing that worries me is the fact that some mothers are actually the ones who buy these clothes for their young daughters.
They are the ones that even tell then the names like, daisy dukes, tank tops, halters, strapless, British cores, hipster, low waist jeans and much more.
False ideas of immodest clothing
There are a lot of people who are against immodest clothing and nudity but tend to approve immodest dressing during some situations and events.
For example they tend to approve immodest clothing in sporting events, for example during swimming, running, or any other reason they depict.
These are all false ideas from the pits of hell.
Sporting events don’t turn immodest dressing into modest, dressing the weather doesn’t turn immodest dressing into modest dressing, swimming doesn’t turn immodest dressing into modest dressing.
This sporting events that promote nudity are hellish. People lust during mixed swimming events, and during lustful commercial breaks.
The cheerleaders and girls dressed in skimpy skirts in tennis or volley ball are an abomination before God.
Examples of immodest clothing
Any clothing style that clings to the body, tight cleavage clothing, or any clothing that shows the cleavage is immodest.
Any trouser that clings to the butt, any dress that clings to the body, dresses with long slits or any attire that shows the anatomy of the body of the woman is immodest.
Mini skirts, tight jeans, hot pants are immodest.
Clothing’s that are see through, that is transparent are immodest. Skimpy skirts, lower necklines, lower cut tops that show the midriff, and any other clothing styles that are designed to cause lust and offend God are immodest.
Examples of modest clothing
Any dress that is not tight, dresses that are long to the feet and cover every part of the body, dresses which are long and have sleeves and long dresses that are not transparent are modest.
Consequences of immodest dressing
Lust and Adultery
Lust is a strong s*xual desire for someone when love is not involved.
It is s*xual desire which is forbidden in the bible. Sexual desire towards your wife or your husband is not forbidden.
The lord Jesus Christ told men not to lust after women, the devil has made provisions through immodest women to ensure that men lust by making women to wear provocative clothing styles.
Jesus Christ said in Mathew 5:28 whoever looks on a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Incontinence
This means lack of self-control. When people are filled with lust to the brim they tend to lose self control and it can result to r**e, child molestation, be******ty, le***anism, homos*xuality, and many more s*xual perversions.
I would like to urge immodest women out there to dress modestly for the well-being of their soul and their brothers in Christ.
