The Leadership Challenge.
DAY 7.
Strike the shepherd and the sheep will scatter... This is not a new phrase in town, hope you've come across it. It is true. In Nehemiah 6, why do you think the conspiracies were against him as a person? Why were the plans to destroy him and not the people he led? The fight is always against the leader since the enemy knows that if he destroys the leaders, then the nations, organizations, churches or families are done. This is because he can now work on them easily. What does this mean? A leader is like a watchperson over his/her subjects. More responsibility has been given to you and hence more will be required to keep things alive: More prayer , more of the word, more study, more vigilance etc. You fail in these, then you risk your life and that of the people you lead. Keep watch over YOURSELF and the flock which the Holy Spirit... Acts 20:28

To keep your inner person strong always and maintain Christian disciplines that will keep you moving as a leader.

The Leadership Challenge
DAY 3.
We've talked of vision, prayer and the heart. Now, it is said that if you want to go fast, go alone but if you want to go far, go with people. And Who'd like to only go near or do little? After a task is given to you to lead, it is good practice to sit down, ASSESS the task and know what you are really required to thro' ways like asking etc. It helps you know what God calls you to do and Nehemiah did that. But you won't do alone. Among those you lead or lead with, find out what each one of them can do best and what gifts they've been blessed with and involve them in the work, others call it delegation(for those you lead) and Help (from those you lead with). It helps you and others grow together.
1 Pet 4:10, Nehemiah 3
PRAYER
- Wisdom to assess a task and see what needs to be done.
- A heart ready to work with others.
-Wisdom to know who can do what best.

The Leadership Challenge.
DAY 2
Like a cocktail, today's scripture contains a number of insights all in one portion of scripture. But let's get one: At the start, the king realizes that his cupbearer isn't okay; sadness is seen on his face. The reason is well known. For Nehemiah, the welfare of his people concerned him. Okay, here comes the issue of the heart. How many of us lead from their heart? Does the welfare of the people you lead concern you? Is their worry your worry too? Do you care about helping meet the need of that least member of the organization, church, team or jurisdiction you lead? And if they do, do you take action to find a remedy for them? Our society no more needs leaders who'd bear the name of leader but in real sense, it isn't in their HEARTS to serve.
God calls for concerned leaders, would you heed His call?
Nehemiah 2.
PRAYER
-That God will really burden your heart for those that He has called you to lead. That His work will be your concern and that what moves His heart will move yours too.

The Leadership Challenge.
DAY 1
Scripture: Nehemiah 1.
When God calls anyone to serve, He'll often open your eyes and lay in your heart what He desires you to do(vision). That's always the starting point. But to gain a better momentum to keep you moving so as to accomplish these things, it FIRST takes prayer; Committing the task to God and trusting Him for accomplishment. And not only prayer at the start but prayer ALWAYS.

PRAYER
Lord, teach me to be a visionary and an ever-praying leader who trusts You always for accomplishment of Your work.

Over time, the heart hasn’t been at peace; rather in turmoil, neither have the hands been at peace too. They’ve burned with a desire to put down something, to speak to someone, if only he/she will be convinced of an urgent call of duty.
