When serving as a missionary in Kenya, Bruce Van Wyk and the team of missionaries had the joy of witnessing Kenyan leaders emerge from the work.

Together with the leadership team, they trusted God for a property that would serve as the office and also have capacity for rental income to support the advancement of the Navigators Kenya work. This was a great leap of faith!

The annual Students Conference brought together about 100 students and staff nationally. Reflecting on the theme, Generation to Generation, with Gary and Debbie Wiley was a great blessing. A key emphasis was on the continuity of God's grace, affirming that we have been the objects of His Grace since before creation. We looked at the demonstration of His Grace in the past, present, and the future.

Dr.Peter Agwa met Ove Tinggaard in 1973 when he was a high school student. The Lord used Ove to clarify the gospel to him and he came to faith. Discipleship in High school and campus was very foundational for him. He has served with the Navigators in Kenya and Canada as a full time staff and part time. His profession has been a vehicle of discipling others, mainly medical school students.

Now, being part of a peer Bible study group in his senior years, the principles of discipleship he learned and practiced in his youth have not changed.

Listen to Dr. Agwa’s testimony.

Ove and Anne Marie Tinggaard arrived in Kenya in 1973 to begin the High School Ministry. Discipling high school students was a strategic step for The Navigators Kenya ministry. Students discipled in high school joined university ready to be equipped. Generations of leaders and workers for the gospel next door to everywhere emerged from the high school ministry.

It is a joy to share with you Ove Tinggaard’s Testimony.

You are holy, o, so holy
You are holy, o, so holy
What privilege and an honor
To worship at your throne
To be called into your presence
As your own

A verse in the song we reflected on as we concluded the God-focused time of prayer for the team gathered in Nairobi.

We came together as the Navigators Kenya, across our ministry entities, to conclude the National Week of Prayer and Fasting on 17 January 2026. This was also The Navigators Africa Day of Prayer and Fasting.

It was a great blessing to commit the Navigators work in Kenya and Africa before the Lord. To be reminded that God is faithful to His promises and He has called us into what He is already doing in the region.
