The Archdiocesan Education Office led by ADN Education Secretary, Fr. Francis Kiarie and the assistant, Fr. Martin Njihia, has today held the final phase (Archdiocesan level) of the CAPEIA Music Festivals at Queen of Apostles Parish, Ruaraka.

The performances featured choral verses and set pieces under the theme: “Catholic Private Schools: Forming Faithful Leaders and Builders of Peace in Christ through Sacred Music and nurturing of God-Given Talents.”

The event, which began at the zonal level across the six zones of the Archdiocese, marks the first of many initiatives planned by the Education Office, serving as its inaugural flagship event.

Participants drawn from Early Childhood Development (ECD), lower primary, upper primary, and junior secondary levels were encouraged to believe in themselves, embrace unity, and foster love for one another.

This Office plays an integral role in ensuring that the next generation is holistically formed by encouraging them to be promoters of peace, integrity, and have a deep connection with the heart of Christ through nurturing their God-given talents.

Archbishops and Bishops from the Association of Member Episcopal Conferences in Eastern Africa (AMECEA) today gathered at Donum Dei, Karen, to launch the Synodality Formation Manual, marking a significant step as the Synodal journey moves into its implementation phase.

The manual serves as a comprehensive guide for dioceses, providing clarity on how the Church will carry forward the fruits of the Synod and ensuring that the faithful are empowered to participate effectively in their respective roles during this new phase. It is intended to support dioceses in implementing synodality while reducing confusion and strengthening coordination across the region.

AMECEA countries include Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia, united in their commitment to walking together as a synodal Church.

The Annual Intercollege Young Catholic Students (IYCS) Mass has been celebrated today at St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary, with Archbishop Philip Anyolo as the main celebrant. The celebration brought together over 300 students from 14 institutions, marking a vibrant gathering of young Catholics in prayer and fellowship.

In the homily, the Archbishop encourages the young people to blossom where they are, recalling his own time at the seminary 40 years ago. He urges them to remain grounded in their faith by being people who pray, fast, and give, especially during this Lenten period, reminding them that young people still possess the ability to do good in their lives.

Reflecting on the parable of the Prodigal Son, he invites the students to look at the good within themselves, noting that God sees the better side of each person and welcomes those who return to Him. He concludes by urging the youth not to disconnect from Christ, but to remain rooted in faith as they journey through life.
May these young Catholics continue to grow in faith, service, and commitment to Christ.

Archbishop Philip Anyolo today led Holy Mass for members of the Catholic Schools Principals Association (CASPA) during their Annual General Meeting held at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, Ruaraka.

In his message, the Archbishop called on the principals to be courageous and teach with love and commitment, regardless of who the student is. He reminded them that their ambition as educators should always be to serve, emphasizing that the work of forming young people is done in partnership with God.

Recognizing the vital role of teachers in society, Archbishop Anyolo encouraged them never to look down upon their vocation, noting that Jesus Christ Himself was a teacher. He urged the principals to remain steadfast in their responsibility, ensuring that their service and mission remain focused on Christ as they continue shaping lives through education.
