The Kisima Champions Children's ministry is the ministry of Karura Community Chapel which caters for the younger generation of the church reaching out to all the children of God's kingdom aged 2 all the way to 11. Our programs are carefully crafted by a team of experts aimed at achieving total mental, physical, emotional and spiritual growth in our children; in short, to make sure our children are
all rounded servants of God's Kingdom. Worship/The "Crazy Noise" time- This is the part of the ministry whereby the champions gather together to worship and, as the name suggests, make some CRAZY NOISE unto the king of kings. The Sunday worship sets are carefully selected to ensure a perfect balance of songs which make the children jump up for joy and go crazy for the king of kings. The slower worship songs come at the end of the set to now lead them towards a deeper connection with God whereby we encourage them to talk to God and tell Him anything as the music plays in the background. To ensure full participation, the worship is led by Kisima's very own Children's ministry made up of the children themselves who encourage their friends to worship God in spirit and in truth.
2. Group Story time/What's the "BIG IDEA"-This part of ministry comes immediately after "CRAZY NoIsE!!" and it includes the focus story of the day. It is from this focus story that the lesson of the day is brought out in a simple yet thought provoking way aimed at helping and guiding the champs towards understanding, as the name suggests, The "BIG IDEA". This approach is used because we have found out, from studies carried out among our own children that they generally respond better to a story-leading-to-the-lesson approach rather than the commonly used jump-into-the-story approach.
3. Age group based group discussions/Whatcha wanna say?- After the BIG IDEA is more or less understood, the champs then break off into age based groups i.e. 2-3,4-5,6-9 and 10-11 years where together with a group leader/Kisima Teacher, they discuss about the lesson of the day and try to apply it in real life situations e.g. This is where majority of the character formation occurs as the champs borrow and share ideas between each other and hence spiritual growth.
4. Arts and Crafts time/Lets get FRIZZY- This is the last part of the normal sunday ministry. During this time, the champs are then shown how to make a craft relating to the lesson of the day by our team of creative crafts personnel. "Getting FRIZZY" helps the champs unwind and break the monotony of lesson time. The crafts are always fun, age-appropriate, easy, invoke creativity from the kids hence mental development and help enhance the message of the day
The Kisima Champions Ministry is led by a team of amazing people who ensure that the four core areas of ministry are addressed every Sunday and even during the week. These are Pastor Patricia and Pastor Mariga who lead the core team and ensure everything runs smoothly.Jeff runs the worship part of the ministry, Sam Runs the Arts and crafts and all of them are supported by an amazing team of teaching personnel who ensure that ministry is done at the end of the day.
