God's Word for His beloved 03/112019:
Isaiah 42:3> A bruised reed He will not break, And smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth.
Ps 65:11-13> You crown the year with Your goodness, And Your paths drip with abundance. They drop on the pastures of the wilderness, And the little hills rejoice on every side. The pastures are clothed with flocks; The valleys also are covered with grain; They shout for joy, they also sing.

Mark 2:12

As much as Jesus is concerned about our physical wellbeing (health, provision, safety...); He is even more concerned about the well-being of our souls. He cares that we may have our sins forgiven than have comforts in this world...

"...what shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul..."

For this reason as we minister to people we ought to be like Jesus. Yes, we should be concerned the physical wellbeing but over and above that we should be more 6s about their spiritual wellness. Are their sins forgiven?

Sunday's Service
Mark 1:1-15
By: Pst. Mike

1. It is good news that God has a Son (Jesus) because it is through Him that God initiated a way of reaching out to humanity to redeem us to Himself.

2. Whatever Jesus went through was for our sake:

- Jesus being equal to God and of the same essence as the Father was filled with the Holy Spirit for our sake; that we may realize how much we need Him even in ministry and accomplishing God's will.

- when we find ourselves in a place of temptation (the list of the flesh, of the eyes and the pride of life) we ought to look to Jesus who overcame all the temptations by the devil.

- when we are stretched to the core in the times of temptation God will always minister to us.

3. We ought to be aware of the schemes of the enemy to deceive us.

4. The faithful ministry of the Gospel will cause us to rub people in the wrong way and for this reason we can end up in trouble even with the authorities just like John the Baptist.

Today's Bible Study
2 Kings 25

*Sin impoverishes and enslaves. When we disobey God and indulge in sin we become impoverished in all ways, morally, spiritually...and we become slaves. Now that we are the temple of God, any indulgence in sin will impoverish us just as the same way the temple was stripped off of it's treasures because of the sin of the people.

* God's word will always come to pay to the very details. Zedekiah was captured, had his eyes gauged out and taken to Babylon- Jeremiah 32:4-5, Ezekiel 12:12-13.

* Sin destroys regardless of ones or position, Vs 18-21

* Jehoiakim was restored from the prison and had a change of garment from his prison clothes. He also had his daily portion from the king as long as he was alive. Likewise we who were once prisoner of sin, God in His mercy has restored us and has clothed us in the garment of righteousness and we continually receive sustenance from Him, the Bread of life. Vs 27-30.

Today's Service By Pastor George:
An introduction to the Gospel according to Mark.

Main Themes:
1. Jesus' Identity- He is God's Servant (10:45) and the Christ (8:27-30)
2. Jesus' Mission- His identity informs His mission. He came to die for our sins (8:31-33)
3. Jesus' Call (What He requires of us)- Now that Jesus took up the cross and paid the great debt for our sins, we ought to daily deny ourselves and take up our cross and follow Him (8:34-38)

The Fathers enjoyed a surprise cake from the children and the mothers...

This Sunday we come to the last Chapter of Hebrews...the outstanding lesson has been that Jesus Christ is Better than all (Angels, Moses, Aaron and his Priesthood, Joshua...) and that He offers a better covenant...for this reason we ought to:
1. Continue having faith in Him (HOLD ON TO HIM)
2. Endure hardship as discipline as we look to Him who endured the cross, despising the shame for the joy set before Him...

Sunday we look at Hospitality in light of what we have learnt of Jesus among other practical lessons.
