Yesterday, team KAYO joined ALUPE ARCHDEACONRY for their Merry go round programme hosted by Alupe Parish,
The visiting Archdeaconaries were, Chamasiri, Kabkara, Katakwa, Amagoro and Machakusi. These Archdeaconaries were represented by 14 members.
During the fellowship, the youth were reminded of the following;
1. We are witnesses of Christ.
As a witness, our duty is to defend our Faith in Him and testify to others that indeed He is good. Let our conduct therefore speak for our Faith. We should always be guided by the fact that we are the Salt of the earth and the light of the world. Let's make Christianity tasty to everyone that has not yet received Christ. Let our actions bring light to others. Let people see what [the good ] they can't see in other places outside salvation
2. Build and strengthen our prayer life
Prayer is the most appropriate way of communicating with God. Through prayer we shall be able to make our desires and petitions known to God. We were therefore encouraged by Lay Canon Ezekiel Otieno that we should fight on our knees as nations are warring against each other
3. We do not fill the Gaps, God does,
We as young people are being prepared by God to fill the gaps we are seeing. We should move from complaining to focusing on what the will of God is in the gaps He has made us identify.
4. Relationships
The Archdeaconry Chairperson and the Diocesan youth Secretary encouraged the young people to 'walk in light' The youth were encouraged to make their relationship status known so that proper guidance may be offered.
The Diocesan youth leader, who was the hosting chairpersons Discouraged the youth from engaging in unhealthy sexual relationships which deters the team from achieving its goal of ensuring that every youth is empowered spiritually, economically and socially.
