Through the dedicated service of The Salvation Army Emergency Response Team, and with the support of District Officer Major Nguru, more than 400 families have received relief food

When humanity calls, we respond with hearts of compassion. ❤️

Guided by God’s love, The Salvation Army Emergency Response Team, led by Territorial Development Officer (TDO) Captain Isaac Kyale, together with the Divisional Officer/Divisional Director of Women’s Ministry (DO/DDWM) for Kitui-Mwingi Division, Captains Alex & Eunice Matheka, reached over 250 households and three schools—two primary schools and one secondary school.

Through this outreach, we brought hope, relief, and a reminder that no family walks alone. Every act of kindness reflects the love of Christ and reminds us that compassion is faith in action.

500+ Families Reached with Hope and Relief

The Salvation Army KYE Emergency Response Team, supported by the Divisional Leaders of Embu and Runyenjes, reached out to over 500 vulnerable families in the Siakago and Munthanthara communities, who have been severely affected by drought and total crop failure following poor rains in previous seasons.

The food relief included maize, beans, cooking oil, and cowpeas, alongside seeds to support recovery and future food production.

Four schools—Micheng’ethu Primary and Secondary Schools, and Munthanthara Primary and Secondary Schools—also received supplies of maize and seeds to support learners through the end of term and help ensure they remain in school as they prepare for their end-of-year examinations.

Together, we are bringing hope, restoring dignity, and putting Love in Action where it matters most. ❤️🙏

🌟 Restoring Hope, Transforming Lives, Strengthening Families 🌟

Our mission goes beyond responding to emergencies such as drought. We are called to bring hope, transform lives, and strengthen families through the love of Christ. ❤️

Led by Secretary for Program Lieutenant Colonel Bernard Nguih, Mwea Division continued this mission by extending its outreach into schools and communities, sharing compassion, dignity, and God's love with those who need it most.

Through this initiative, we reached 300 households, touching lives and bringing encouragement to families facing various challenges. Every act of kindness, every word of hope, and every helping hand is a testimony that God's love is alive and at work through willing hearts. 🙏

We thank God for every life impacted today and pray that the seeds of hope planted will grow, flourish, and bear lasting fruit in our communities.

💖 Hope was shared. 🤝 Lives were touched. 🌱 Communities were strengthened.

NURTURING BRAVERY
Raising a Generation of Courageous Disciples for Christ_

The long-awaited climax of the Junior Soldiers Rally came to life at Thika Territorial Hall, bringing together young people committed to following Christ under the inspiring theme, “Nurturing Bravery.”

The rally was led by Commissioners Samuel & Theresa Baah (Territorial Commander and Territorial President of Women's Ministries), assisted by Colonels Mario & Celeste Nhacumba (Chief Secretary and Territorial Secretary for Women's Ministries).

In her opening remarks, Colonel Celeste reminded those who gathered that God is actively at work among His people. Colonel Mario affirmed that the occasion was especially significant because the Junior Soldiers had made the courageous decision to follow Jesus Christ.

In his keynote address, Commissioner Samuel Baah echoed the rally theme, emphasizing that bravery is a God-given gift that must be nurtured for His honour and glory. He challenged the young soldiers to:

• Embrace discomfort as a pathway to growth and strength.
• Lead by example, demonstrating God's grace in their daily lives.
• Trust God's promises when facing challenges and uncertainty.

Following exciting competitions, participants received gifts and awards, while a time of ministry brought encouragement and inspiration to all in attendance. The rally concluded with a closing prayer led by Commissioner Theresa Baah.

✨ The rally served as a powerful reminder that, although nurturing bravery can be challenging, it develops courageous young disciples who stand firm in Christ and boldly live out their faith.

A HISTORIC DAY IN TALA CITADEL!

Today marked a significant milestone as The Salvation Army Kenya East Territory held the Ground-breaking and Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony for the Tala Citadel Officers’ Quarters in Kangundo Division. The occasion was graced by Commissioners Samuel & Theresa Baah, Territorial Commander & Territorial President of Women’s Ministries.
Following a warm welcome from the Divisional Leaders Majors John & Hellen Ngui and remarks from Captain Isaac Kyale (TDO), it was shared that this long-awaited vision has been three years in the making since 2023. The new officers’ quarters, which will serve as the first project of its kind in the territory and a model for future officers’ residences, is set to be completed within 120 days.

Commissioner Theresa Baah encouraged the congregation to continue doing good, reminding everyone that while the local church plays its part, Territorial Headquarters through the Projects Office will ensure the completion of the house.

Speaking from Ephesians 2:19-22, Commissioner Samuel Baah reflected on the deeper meaning of the day, reminding all present that Jesus Christ is the Chief Cornerstone. He emphasised that as God’s people, we are stewards of His house and united in His family. Quoting John 1:12-13, he encouraged believers to embrace their identity in Christ, bringing hope, comfort, and transformation to society.

As the Commissioner concluded: “As we build houses, we also build our faith in Christ.”

🙏 We thank God for this remarkable step forward and look ahead with faith as this project takes shape for the glory of God and the advancement of His mission.

🌾 Drought Response in Machakos

The Salvation Army Kenya East Territory reached out to over 200 drought-affected families in Tawa, Masii, Kasyelia, Iiani, Mulau, Ukalani and Kooi, Machakos County.

The families have been greatly affected by crop failure and erratic rainfall from December 2025 to May 2026.

Led by Divisional Leaders Majors Thomas and Jane Musyoki, together with the Kenya East Emergency Response Team, food support was distributed, including maize, beans and cooking oil, alongside early-maturing Katumani maize seeds to support the next planting season. 🌽

The DDWM prayed with the families, asking God to have mercy and provide sufficient rains for a good harvest, while reminding us of our responsibility to care for His creation. 🙏🏽🌧️

Together, we respond. Together, we restore hope. ❤️
