✨ A Historic Day at Ulinzi Complex Stadium! ✨
— Reflection on a day Kenya will always remember —

Today, the long awaited moment finally arrived as soldiers, youths, and friends of the salvation army from the Kenya East Territory gathered in vast numbers at the Ulinzi Complex Stadium for a powerful time of fellowship, worship, and testimony.

This landmark gathering marks the first-ever International Conference of Leaders (ICL) to be held on African soil — and what a blessing that Kenya was chosen for such a momentous occasion!

We were deeply honoured to be led by The General of The Salvation Army, Commissioner Lyndon Buckingham, accompanied by:
• World President of Women’s Ministries, Commissioner Bronwyn Buckingham
• Chief of the Staff, Commissioner Edward Hill
• World Secretary for Women’s Ministries, Commissioner Shelley Hill
• Together with our own Kenya East Territory leadership: TC/TPWM Commissioners Samuel & Theresa Baah and CS/TSWM Colonels Mario & Celeste Nhacumba

The General delivered a profound message from Lamentations 3:18–26, reminding us of three powerful truths:
1️⃣ His love is great — we are not consumed.
2️⃣ His compassions never fail.
3️⃣ His faithfulness renews our hope each morning.

He later led the congregation in a heartfelt prayer that stirred many hearts. The World President of Women’s Ministries then pronounced a moving benediction that sealed the day with grace and strength.

Today was truly a historic milestone — a testament to God’s unending work among His people. As an African proverb says: “When the roots are deep, there is no reason to fear the wind.” The Lord continues to strengthen His Army.

Let us stay united, prayerful, and expectant as the conference continues. May God’s unwavering grace guides every moment ahead. 🙏🔥

🌍🔥 THE ARRIVAL | INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF LEADERS 2026 – NAIROBI, KENYA
History is in motion.

Nairobi has today received global Salvation Army leadership for the International Conference of Leaders 2026, marking the official arrival of the Chief of Staff, Commissioner Edward Hill — second-in-command of The Salvation Army worldwide — alongside the World Secretary for Women’s Ministries, Commissioner Shelley Hill.

They were warmly and honourably received by the Kenya East Territory, led by Territorial Commander Commissioner Samuel Baah and Territorial President of Women’s Ministries, Commissioner Theresah Baah.
Also present in welcome were Chief Secretary Colonel Mario Nhacumba and Territorial Secretary for Women’s Ministries Colonel Celeste Nhacumba, together with pastoral care teams, command leaders, officers, Salvationists, and friends — a full expression of the Army in unity.

From the moment of arrival, one message is clear: this is more than a conference — it is a global gathering of mission, purpose, and spiritual alignment.
In her first remarks, Commissioner Shelley Hill expressed heartfelt gratitude to be in Nairobi, recognizing the strength and witness of the Army in this territory. She shared her joy in joining with leaders and soldiers over the next eleven days, culminating in a united time of worship this Sunday, 22 March, at Ulinzi Sports Complex.

She called on all to remain prayerful — that God would bless every moment, guide every engagement, and strengthen His people for the work ahead.
🙏🏽 We thank God. We love you all. The Army is on the move.

✨ DYO/DJHLS WORKSHOP – CLOSING DAY HIGHLIGHTS ✨

Today we concluded the 3 day DYO/DJHLS workshop, graced by our Chief Secretary, Colonel Mario Nhacumba.
He shared three key principles for every youth leader:
🔹 Embrace your God given responsibility
🔹 Stay rooted in the Word of God
🔹 Be the champion of child protection

Sharing from Romans 12:1–12, he reminded delegate’s to be transformed by the renewing of their minds. Referring to 1 Timothy 4:12, he encouraged them to set an example in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity.

He emphasized that being a youth leader is not an accident, but a divine calling to invest in the lives of young people.

The DYO’s and DJHLS’s Workshop officially opened today—a three-day gathering dedicated to strengthening youth ministry and leadership. Commissioner Samuel Baah, assisted by Lt. Colonel Benard Nguih (Secretary for Programme), Major Francis Ndeto, and Captain Elizabeth Ndeto (TYS/ATYS) Led the opening.

Under the theme “Driven to Transform,” aligned with the Territorial theme “To Be Like Jesus” (Philippians 2:5), the Territorial Commander encouraged delegates to embrace their calling as spiritual parents, developing programs that nurture growth and shape a brighter future.

He reminded youth workers of their vital role in representing Christ through mentorship, guidance, and Christ-centered leadership.

We look forward to three impactful days of learning and transformation.
