It is with deep sorrow, yet with hearts filled with gratitude for a life devoted to God’s service, that we announce the passing of our beloved former East-Central Africa Division (ECD) Youth Director, Pastor Jean Pierre Mulumba Tchimanga, who passed away, in Nairobi, Kenya, where he had been receiving medical care.
Pastor Mulumba was more than a retired pastor or former church administrator. He was a devoted servant of God who dedicated many years of his life to the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, faithfully serving its members, leaders, and especially the youth.
His contribution to the Church extended beyond youth ministry, including his commitment to Adventist communication and media ministry in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where he served in leadership at the Centre des Médias Adventistes de Kinshasa, which encompasses Hope Channel RDC and other media ministries.
As colleagues, fellow ministers, and members of the wider ECD family, we remember him with deep appreciation for his dedication, leadership, and lasting contribution to God’s work.
We kindly invite all youth leaders, pastors, and young people across the Division to uphold his bereaved family, loved ones, and the entire ECD Youth Ministries family in prayer during this difficult time.
The ECD leadership is coordinating the necessary arrangements, and further information regarding funeral arrangements and other official details will be communicated through the official channels of the East-Central Africa Division and the relevant Union.
May the promise of the resurrection in Christ bring comfort, strength, and hope to all who mourn.
