He was too good.
He was a committed soldier.
He so much cared about the welfare of his comrades...that
He refused not only to sleep in his house but also refused to sleep with his wife while the rest of the army was in war.
He thought so good of the king. No thought ever crossed his mind that David could do him any harm leave alone sleeping with his beautiful wife.
He never peeped to see what the letter he was given by the boss said. He was too trusting. Too good for such silly behaviors.
He carried his death sentence by his goodness.
after David finally married the wife of Uriah, they gave birth to a son called Solomon who became King in the place of other sons of "good married wives"
Solomon says in Ecclesiastes 7;16.
Do not be too good or too wise, why should you destroy yourself.
