Today, in Nairobi, the AMECEA (Association of Member Episcopal Conferences in Eastern Africa) Plenary Assembly opened with the Holy Mass led by H.E. Michael Cardinal Czerny, S.J., Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, and concelebrated by bishops and priests from the AMECEA countries. Delegates come from the AMECEA member countries of Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia, together with representatives from the Apostolic Administrations of Djibouti and Somalia.
For one week, bishops, priests, religious men and women, lay faithful, youth delegates, and experts from across Eastern Africa will gather in Nairobi to pray, reflect, and discern together the future of the Church's mission in the region. We praise and thank God that our community, Couples For Christ, is represented by our CFC Missionaries for East Africa.
Let us continue to include them in our prayers.
