Bishop Moses Gitari has been a great friend and supporter of AE Kenya for over 20 years now. And his story serves to inspire generations.
The setting is Thika, 1999. AE Kenya was conducting its annual citywide mission and that was the turning point for his life. “I remember Dr. Stephen Mbogo was the one who brought me to salvation. They were conducting door to door missions and they encountered me in a bar. They took me home to my wife and there they shared the message of our Lord and Savior. And there began my journey with Christ.”
Bishop Gitari undertook an Evangelism course with AE and his fire for missions in particular has kept on burning brightly. He has been part of almost all AE missions since then. “For me, AE Missions are extremely important. At the start of every year, I commit to attend the years’ mission so I ensure that I take my annual leave during that period.”
Within 3 years of his salvation, he was honored to be appointed as an elder in his local church. And from there he grew to be an ordained minister. He currently is the Bishop of House of Glory Blessed Church that has 8 branches all over the country with the 9th due to open this coming month in Embu.
“Whenever I attend a mission and go out to spread the gospel, I feel like the heavens open and the spirit of God ministers to those I speak to. I am a missioner at heart.”
