Nobody talks about this part of ministry… The lonely, confusing, “God did you really send me??
Let me be honest with you…
Starting ministry is beautiful.
But the first early years•
They will test everything you think you heard from God.
I remember seasons where it felt like…
“God, you told me to start… so why does it feel this hard?”
If you’re in that phase, read this slowly:

Here are some real challenges young ministries face (that nobody prepares you for):

~ LOW OR INCONSISTENT ATTENDANCE
Some days it’s full… some days it’s just you and two people.
It can mess with your confidence if you’re not grounded.
👉 What to do:
Stop measuring impact by numbers. Focus on obedience and depth. Even Jesus didn’t chase crowds—He built people.

~ FINANCIAL STRAIN
You have vision, but resources are not matching it yet.
Sometimes you’re funding things from your own pocket.
👉 What to do:
Start small. Be wise. Build structure. And trust God for provision—but also learn stewardship.

~ DOUBT AND INTERNAL QUESTIONING:
“Did I really hear God?”
“Am I even called?”
Yes… those thoughts will come.
👉 What to do:
Go back to your conviction. Not emotions. Not opinions. What did God actually say?

~ LACK OF SUPPORT:
The people you thought would stand with you… don’t.
And the ones supporting you are not who you expected.
👉 What to do:
Accept that God sends your helpers. Don’t force loyalty. Build with the ones who are present.

~ SPIRITUAL AND EMOTIONAL EXHAUSTION:
You’re pouring into people constantly…
But who is pouring into you?
👉 What to do:
Guard your secret place. Rest is not weakness. Even Jesus withdrew.

~ COMPARISON AND PRESSURE:
You start looking at other ministries growing faster… doing more…
👉 What to do:
Stay in your lane. Different assignments, different timings. Comparison will kill your focus.

~ PEOPLE MISUNDERSTANDING YOU:
Some will call you fake, too much, or unnecessary.
👉 What to do:
Be rooted in identity. If God sent you, you don’t need everyone to understand you.
Listen…

The early years of ministry are not for showing off.
They are for building, stretching, and becoming.
If you survive this phase with your heart still pure…
God can trust you with more.

There is a great lesson to learn from the story of the two women who came before Solomon. Both slept under the same roof. Both went into the night with children in their arms. Both closed their eyes expecting to wake up to the same reality they slept with. Yet by morning, one child was dead and one child had been stolen. One night changed everything. The frightening thing is that neither battle happened in the daytime. It happened in the night; in silence, in unconsciousness, in moments of unawareness. One woman slept on her child and crushed what had been entrusted to her. The other slept and awoke to discover that while she rested, an exchange had taken place.
This paints a sobering picture of spiritual wakefulness. For some, the enemy does not need to fight from outside because carelessness from within is already doing the work. How many destinies, prayer lives, callings, convictions and spiritual fires have not died from open attacks, but from neglect? Some things do not die because they were fought; they die because they were slept on.
Yet the second woman reveals another mystery. She did not kill her child; she lost him through vulnerability. She slept with something living and woke up with something dead beside her. The enemy had performed an exchange in the dark. What a terrifying reality; because sometimes people still look the same externally, still attend church, still smile, still function, yet something living has been replaced. Passion exchanged for routine. Fire exchanged for formality. Intimacy exchanged for activity.

Then comes the turning point: the mother looked closely. Something in her refused to accept the situation at face value. She discerned that what was beside her was not what belonged to her. That is the cry of spiritual alertness: "This is not mine. This is not what God gave me. This is not the joy I carried. This is not the fire I once had."

Jesus said, “Watch and pray.” Because not every loss announces itself, and not every exchange is obvious. Some battles happen while men sleep. Blessed is the believer who possesses eyes that can still see and a spirit that can still discern when morning comes.

A family prayer altar is simply a daily time when the family gathers to seek God together. It builds unity, peace, spiritual growth, and protection in a home. Building the altar doesn’t need gold chairs, matching white clothes, or background keyboard music, but just a willing heart.
1️⃣ Make God the Centre of Your Home
Determine that your family will prioritise serving God first.
A healthy home is not built only on money, food, or success. It is built on God’s presence.
📖 “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” — Joshua 24:15
2️⃣ Choose a Specific Time
Pick a time everyone can meet consistently:
Early morning
Evening after work
Before sleeping
Even 15-30 minutes daily is enough if done faithfully.
Consistency is more powerful than occasional emotional prayer marathons that leave everyone exhausted and angry the next morning.
3️⃣ Choose a Quiet Place
Find a simple place where the family can gather:
Sitting room
Bedroom
Dining table
The place itself is not holy. God responds to faith and sincerity.
4️⃣ Read the Bible Together
Read:
A chapter
A Psalm
A Bible story
Then explain it simply so everyone understands.
Ask:
What is God teaching us?
What should we change?
What lesson can we apply today?
The Word of God feeds the spirit and guides the family.
5️⃣ Worship Together
Sing worship songs together.
You do not need perfect voices. Heaven survives family singing somehow. Miracles continue daily.
Worship invites God’s presence and prepares hearts for prayer.
6️⃣ Pray Together
Pray for:
Protection
School and work
Health
Financial needs
Peace in the home
Salvation
The nation and church
Allow every family member to pray, including children.
This builds confidence and spiritual growth.
7️⃣ Teach Children to Pray
Do not wait until children grow older.
Teach them:
How to thank God
How to pray for others
How to trust God
Children raised around prayer grow spiritually strong.
8️⃣ Forgive One Another
A family altar cannot grow where there is constant bitterness and pride.
Learn to:
Apologize quickly
Forgive quickly
Restore peace
Prayer becomes powerful when the home walks in unity.
9️⃣ Stay Consistent
Some days will feel powerful. Some days will feel dry.
Keep praying anyway.
Strong spiritual foundations are built through consistency, not feelings alone.
THE FAMILY PRAYER ALTAR FORMAT
✅ Opening song
✅ Bible reading
✅ Short sharing
✅ Prayer time
✅ Closing the Thanksgiving 20-30 minutes can transform a family over time.
HIGHLIGHTING.
A family prayer altar protects the spiritual atmosphere of the home. It brings unity, direction, discipline, and God’s presence into everyday situations.

Families that pray together become stronger together.

👁 The enemy knows something about midnight that most Christians have assumed.
That is why he works overtime to keep you asleep at that hour.
We are going deeper.
👁 Midnight is not just a time on the clock.
In the Scriptures, midnight is a moment of divine intervention, divine movement, and divine judgment.
The plagues of Egypt reached their climax at midnight (Exodus 12:29,).
Paul and Silas sang at midnight and the prison broke open (Acts 16:25).
The bridegroom came at midnight (Matthew 25:6,).

👁 Why Midnight Specifically?
The spiritual atmosphere at midnight is different.
Distractions are gone. The noise of the day is silenced. Your flesh is quieted.
That is why the enemy prefers you being unconscious at this hour. A praying believer at midnight is dangerous to his agenda.

👁 Midnight prayer is not folklore or tradition. The Word backs it.
👁 The Warfare Dimension
Ephesians 6:12
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”
The word “wrestle” in the Greek is “pale,” meaning hand-to-hand, close combat.
👁 Midnight is when you step into that arena fully armed.
👁 What Midnight Prayer Does in the Spirit
Here is what happens when you pray at midnight with intentionality:

👁 You break demonic assignments that were scheduled for your life overnight.
👁 You release angels to work on your behalf before the morning.
👁 You intercede when intercession is most needed and least common.
👁 You position yourself in a place of divine favor before the new day begins.
👁 You disrupt the works of darkness before they manifest in the natural.
👁 A Step-by-Step Guide to Praying Midnight Warfare Prayer

👀 Prepare before you sleep.
Set your alarm. Decide what you are standing in prayer for. Write it down. Go to sleep with intent, not casualness. (If you know you can’t get up to pray after sleeping, try to keep yourself awake.)
👀 Wake up and immediately engage.
Do not scroll. Do not check messages. Get up, kneel or stand, and open your mouth. (Take a posture that you know will not send you back to sleep)
👀 Begin with worship.
Thank God. Declare who He is. Worship silences the enemy and shifts the atmosphere.
👀 Plead the Blood of Jesus.
Cover yourself, your home, your family, and your territory. The Blood speaks (Hebrews 12:24,). This is spiritual application of the finished work of Calvary.
👀 Identify the assignment you are breaking.
Pray specifically. “I break every assignment of delay over my destiny in the name of Jesus.” Be precise. Vague prayers produce vague results.
👀 Declare Scripture out loud.
Open your Bible or use verses you have memorized. Speak them over the situation. The Word is the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17,).
👀 Pray in the Spirit.
Tongues in warfare prayer is a weapon that bypasses your understanding and prays the perfect will of God (Romans 8:26-27,).
👀 Declare victory and give thanks.
End by thanking God as though the battle is already won. Because in the Spirit, it is.
👁 A Word on Consistency
One night of midnight prayer is powerful.
But in a season of spiritual warfare, it’s advisable to decide to pray not just once at night. You can start with seven days midnight prayers and watch what happens.
The enemy fears the believer who is consistent more than the one who shows up occasionally with great intensity.
👁 What to Expect
Things will shift.
Dreams will become clearer. Blockages will begin to open. Peace will increase. Answers will come in naturally to what you prayed for in the Spirit.
Midnight prayer is seed. You will harvest.
