WHEN KINGS FALL, GOD SPEAKS
THE PROPHETIC DESTINY OF LUO NYANZA
The bible records that when the Roman Centurion and his people saw all that had happened at the death of Jesus, they said, "Surely this was the Son of God."
I've just watched the STATE funeral service of the former Prime Minister of Kenya, the Rt. Honourable Raila Amollo Odinga. And we can say without a doubt, "surely this was the people's President."
From the petty squabbles over red carpets, to denial of VIP lounges at the airport, to his hand being swatted away as he tried to touch the world cup trophy, to teargas and detention, to a lifetime of abuse and ridicule. The man, and by extension a despondent, rejected community, finally gets at death the honour deserved while living.
He lived a FULL life. With a good family, wealth, power and influence. What many would crave for. And I believe he has died empty. Gave his all. To the best of his ability, he tried to fulfill his purpose on earth.
With him, we pray, will also be buried the blood feud between the Luo and Kikuyu communities stemming from the 1969 Kisumu massacre onto the 2007 post election clashes, down maandamano road and embodied in the Odinga name.
From Gor Mahia to Luanda Magere, from Tom Mboya to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga from Robert Ouko to Raila Odinga to Barack Obama, from Prophet Owuor to Pst Ezekiel. There is something that lands on those from Luo Nyanza that will provoke fanatical following. From Nyanza and beyond.
Something SPIRITUAL. Whether in political or spiritual leadership, it's a Prophetic MANTLE. That mantle now hangs.
I'm sure there are politicians now in shrines negotiating for it, trying to grab it.
But, prophetically, it's time for Kisumu, Nyanza and western region as a whole to have a complete REBIRTH.
Prophetically speaking, there are 2 seeds in Nyanza. REVIVAL & REBELLION. And they're growing side by side. By default. But there's a chance here to be deliberate about choosing REVIVAL, spiritual, economic and social, and enforcing that in PRAYER. Because when Kings die, God speaks.
When King Uzzia died, God sent Isaiah. To reshape the destiny of a nation.
Isaiah 6:1,8
In the year that King Uzziah died...
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
TONIGHT. We have a KESHA."COVENANT NIGHT" . The King has fallen. As believers. We are now sent to reshape a nation's destiny.
