SPIRITUAL DUE DILIGENCE: CHECK THE SPIRITUAL HISTORY OF AN ASSET
When I moved to Mombasa, the first house I got was roughly in town near Mwembe Tayari. (Yes. In Mombasa the CBD is residential area).
I paid for everything and my stuff was on its way in a truck from Nairobi. We went with the lady agent, who also happened to be the daughter of the owner, to the flat so she could hand over the keys. As I was with her, a phone call came in from Dubai. It was her father. I could overhear the man shouting on the phone, "Kuna mtu mnampea nyumba hapo. Hatumtaki sisi. Mrudishieni hela zake aende!" Roughly meaning "There's a gentleman you want to rent a house to. We don't want him. Refund his money and let him go!"
Question. How did he know all the way in Dubai that I was about to enter his house? And why did "they" have such an issue with me?
My point is this. HOUSES, LANDS and even some VEHICLES have a spiritual covering. Or attachment. Depending on the covenants that were done when they were bought.
There are houses you move into and all your affairs scatter. There's land you buy and it swallows you. All your things begin to go down.
Numbers 13:32
So they spread this bad report about the land among the Israelites: “The land we traveled through and explored will devour anyone who goes to live there....
As you do your legal due diligence on any asset also do the SPIRITUAL due diligence.
Always find out:
● What happened to the last tenant / owner
● WHY it is being sold, vacant
● How long it has stayed that way
● Is it on auction? Did the last owner go bankrupt
● What do the people around say about it
● Did any TRAGEDY happen there? Did someone die?
● Is there any immediate owner somewhere crying tears and seeking justice because of this asset?
This is also why we DEDICATE such before the Lord, just to make sure. I declare. By God's grace. In 2026. You shall not land in a ditch. In Jesus mighty Name. Amen.
