President Dallin H. Oaks delivered his first public address as President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints during a devotional at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, on February 10, 2026, where he outlined four ways to come closer to Jesus Christ amid growing spiritual challenges. Speaking to students and faculty at the Marriott Center, President Oaks encouraged strengthening faith, increasing humility, seeking guidance from well-informed believers, and exercising patience in spiritual growth. He warned of increasing distractions and misinformation, emphasized the need for the constant influence of the Holy Ghost, and urged those facing doubt to remain faithful, trust in the Lord, and focus on service to others.
