AIC Zion/ Mathare

AIC Zion/ Mathare AIC Mathare DCC is in Nairobi North Region and is currently headed by Rev Wambua. It has 5 Churches Zion is located 7 Km.

AIC Mathare was started by the Mother church AIC Ziwani in April 1989. The initial membership was 30 people mostly children and young people. The original location was at Kiboro Primary School, but later it was relocated to Mathare Youth polytechnic hall and now Zion A.I.C. from the Nairobi city center in the heart of sprawling Mathare slum. The leadership realized the locals were not only requiri

ng spiritual help but also physical, hence need for school and health center. To respond to that, A.I.C Zion education center was established in January 2005,now the school has an enrolment of over 500 children from class 1 to class 8. To date AIC Zion – Mathare church has brought some impact to the community, whereby most of the church faithful were preached and started attending church services hence many have changed their way of living. The church has also introduced sporting activities for the youth whereby most of the youths have been attracted by the sports and many have turned to Christ. To date AIC Zion has a congregation of 1500 members most of them being youths who are from the slum.
