TODAY’S SECOND WORD – “LOOKING UNTO JESUS”
The second word was still ministered by our Father in Christ, Rev. Simon Karei , under the theme “Looking Unto Jesus.”
Our Spiritual Mother, Pastor Nancy, was also present and led us in a powerful time of praise and worship that stirred our hearts to focus on Jesus.
📖 Numbers 21:8–9 (NKJV)
> “Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live.’ So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.”
In the wilderness, when the people of Israel sinned and fiery serpents bit them, their healing came not from medicine or human help, but from looking unto the bronze serpent God commanded Moses to lift up. This was a picture of Christ — that everyone who looks to Him in faith shall live.
📖 John 3:14–16 (NKJV)
> “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Just as the Israelites looked at the bronze serpent and were healed, so we must look to Jesus — the One lifted up on the cross — for salvation, peace, and life.
Today, we live in difficult times. Jealousy, hatred, and discouragement fill the hearts of many. But in the midst of all this, the Word of God reminds us:
“Look unto Jesus, and you will live.”
Even as our nation faces uncertain moments, we as Kenyans must keep our eyes on Christ, for He alone is our hope and healer.
📖 Isaiah 45:22 (NKJV)
> “Look to Me, and be saved,
All you ends of the earth!
For I am God, and there is no other.”
📖 Psalms 34:5 (NKJV)
> “They looked to Him and were radiant,
And their faces were not ashamed.”
When we truly fix our eyes on Jesus, shame disappears, and our faces shine with His glory. Those who look to Him are never put to shame.
We also reflected on the story of the woman with the issue of blood (Mark 5:25–34). She had suffered for twelve years, spent all she had on many physicians, yet her situation only grew worse. This reminds us that sometimes money cannot help us — there are battles in life that only Jesus can win for us. But when she looked to Jesus and touched the hem of His garment in faith, immediately she was healed.
Faith moves the hand of God. When we look to Jesus with faith, we receive healing, restoration, and peace.
Beloved, this is the time to lift our eyes away from the world and focus on Christ. Let us be among those whose faith remains firm in Him.
