The Diocese of Nairobi together with it's leadership under Bishop Jonathan Kabiru join our Archbishop Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit , in mourning together with families affected in the tragic fire that claimed the lives of sixteen students at Utumishi Senior Girls Academy in Gilgil this morning, 28th May 2026.

We stand with you, the families of the departed, and the entire school community in this moment of unbearable loss. Our hearts are heavy as we mourn these young souls—full of promise, hope, and dreams—who have been taken from us far too soon.

We extend our most sincere condolences to the parents, guardians, and relatives of the girls who perished. May the Lord grant you supernatural comfort and strength that surpasses all understanding. We also pray earnestly for the speedy recovery of the injured students; may God’s healing hand rest upon them and grant them wholeness.

The Diocese of Nairobi joins our nation, and indeed all people of goodwill in grieving this devastating tragedy. We pledge our continued prayers and any practical support that may be needed during this painful time.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18).

On Saturday 30th from 9am at the Mother's Union Ruai land, the ACK Diocese of Nairobi will launch a series of community based programs and a Sports ministry will be among them. We look forward to a great time of using Football for evangelism after the launch.

The Diocese of Nairobi congratulates Arsenal team and all its fan base in the Diocese and throughout for being the Champions of the just concluded English Premier League.

It has been a long wait and the patience has paid.

The Bishop Jonathan Kabiru together with the Diocesan leadership and all fan bases takes this earliest opportunity to invite you for an event this coming Saturday.

On Saturday 30th May, the Diocese of Nairobi under the leadership of the Bishop will launch the Diocese of Nairobi Community based programs.

One of the programs to be launched will be Sports and football is much included in this.

Join us as on Saturday in Ruai at the Mother's Union land from 9am.
