Holy Cross Family Ministries_Kenya

Holy Cross Family Ministries_Kenya We Help Families Pray Holy Cross Family Ministries, was founded by a Holy Cross Priest called Fr. Patrick Peyton CSC born in 1909. This was in 1942.

It was after he had suffered an acute tuberculosis disease a year before he got ordained. While in hospital and with all efforts to cure his illness seemingly failing, the doctors offered him two options to risk a surgery, which presented him a small ability to survive, or Try Prayer with hope that it might work for him because of his deep spiritual and prayer life! In the wake of his despair, he

had but one choice to make as a believer: Try Prayer! In this choice, he made a promise to his beloved mother Mary that, "If you mother heal me from my illness, i will make sure that your name is praised throughout all the world". And indeed, miraculously Patrick Peyton CSC got healed and ordained in 1941 at NotreDame. Because he had a great inspiration for prayer from his own family, where they met together every night to pray the Rosary in turns, he came to believe that indeed, "The Family that Prays together, Stays together!" and that "The powerful tool is in our hands!" This is but the Rosary. He believed that if families always gave only fifteen minutes to pray together, there will be a lot of peace and love in every home. To promote this belief, Patrick Peyton CSC always distributed rosaries to every person and people he met. Convinced priests, bishops and family units about his passion through Rosary Crusades. Through them he founded Family Rosary which is the original name of Holy Cross Family Ministries. In 1947, he founded the Family theatre Productions in HollyWood. This was channel to reach out to the modern and contemporary family. As our MISSION, We are a family of Catholic Ministries that inspires, promotes and fosters the spiritual well-being of families throughout the world. Our world is the small christian communities, the parish centers, parishes, deaneries and dioceses and archdioceses of the Catholic Church! As a family of Catholic Ministries, Our VISION is to Strive to be a respected and reliable catalyst for inspiration, support and dynamic content on family life through a focus on spirituality and prayer especially the Rosary! we believe that the Rosary is the powerful tool in our hands to promote the true spirit of family prayer. We inspire, We support, We create dynamic content towards better sense of prayer and spirituality among families. Today Holy Cross Family Ministries, is filled with passion to help many families to pray together, to pray better, to pray more in 17 countries in the world. Kenya is one of these countries. This is for two reasons: Patrick Peyton CSC visited Kenya in 1955 i.e. Nairobi and Mau Mau. It is a great honor for us indeed, Secondly, Holy Cross Family Ministries is only found in places where the congregation of Holy Cross is located. This is because all our programs, activities and services are sponsored by the congregration of Holy Cross.

In collaboration with Radio Maria Kenya, the event will also be livestreamed both in their channels and HCFM kenya youtube channel . We encourage everyone to tune in and join this special moment of prayer . Blessings.

Happy Pentecost Sunday

Today we celebrate the day the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles, filling them with courage, wisdom, and zeal to proclaim the Good News to the world.

May the same Holy Spirit renew our hearts, strengthen our faith, and set us on fire with God's love. May He fill our families with peace, our communities with unity, and our lives with His gifts and fruits.

At today’s Mass at Tom Mboya Primary School, we were reminded that loving Jesus is not just about what we say it’s about how we live. When we show kindness, help others, forgive, and do what is right, we show our love for Him.

Just like Peter, Jesus asks each one of us today: “Do you love Me?”
May our answer be seen not only in our words but also in our actions

Pentecost Novena Day 8 -Gift of Piety

As we continue our journey toward Pentecost, we pray for the Gift of Piety. That is grace that deepens our love for God and fills our hearts with compassion for others. May the Holy Spirit teach us to approach God with childlike trust and to serve one another with humility and love.
