*Can a Christian have trouble (afflictions)?*
Psalm 34:19
"Many are the afflictions of the righteous.
But the LORD delivers him out of them all".
If you read the above scripture, when you're going through a certain challenge in life, you'll arise, and shout a big "hallelujah!"
This's because the Bible does not say that a righteous man won't have any problem. But it says that you, a righteous man, will have many troubles, but the LORD will deliver you from all of them. Hallelujah!
You see, the enemy, would like you to think that if you're a Christian, then you should not have any problem. So when you go through a problem, he starts whispering to you, oh, where is your God? Oh if you're saved you shouldn't be going through this problem, oh, you see even your pastor doesn't like you, oh, oh, oh, even the other world is better than this christianity.
My friend, 1 Peter 4:12 says; " Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you".
Peter is telling us that all we're going through is not strange. So my brother, my sister, don't think that your problem is very strange before GOD. He knows about it.
1Corinthians 10:13 says;
" No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man. But God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation, He will also make a way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
Friends, let's be like Job. The Bible says that Job was a righteous man who revered GOD. Job was also very wealthy. But a time came when he went through a very big test. He lost everything he had, including his children. His health also suffered. It was so bad such that his wife told him to curse GOD and die. But Job continued to love GOD. He never forsook GOD.
Finally, GOD rewarded Job. He gave him two times of everything he had lost. When you continue to live for GOD, and to trust Him, despite your troubles, GOD will reward you, just like He did to Job.
Yes, a Christian can have trouble. But take it positive, let it not pull you back. For GOD will bring good out of it. It's for your good, not to destroy you. ( Romans 8; 28)
