*UNITY: THE RALLYING CALL FOR THIS YEAR'S MOTHERS UNION SUNDAY*
*Mrs.Diner Omongo,* a Mothers Union member at ACK St.Stephens and Mary Magdalene Church, Waithaka Parish, was on Sunday, August 4 the preacher at the 800-seater capacity Sanctuary. She shared from *many* Bible texts but centred mostly on Psalm 133:1-3.
Mrs.Diner thanked the Congregants for accepting her and allowing her to grow, citing that she was only Commissioned as a Mothers Union member the previous year.
" _Where there is unity, there is also disunity as the devil is always at work. As a Church we need unity for us to fellowship and prosper. Unity is an asset in our Church and our homes,"_ Mrs.Diner began her homily to a sea of mostly blue-dressed Christians who had come to show support for the Mothers Union department.
Drawing from John 17:20, Mrs.Diner emphasized on the importance of having unity by saying: _"Jesus prayed for the unity of the Church. He wants us to live and fellowship together by loving one another,"_ adding, _"Even building this Church required unity."_
The Speaker informed the Believers that unity is paramount and continued her preaching by saying: _"Prayer is a must for unity to prevail."_
Being a day for the Mothers in the Parish, she challenged her peers this way, _"Mothers are the pillars of their families. Let us remember to pray for our spouses and children. Marriages are under attack, stand firm."_
Mrs.Diner finished her message by outlining key benefits of unity from Acts 4:32-35. These are just but a few:
i)Unity enables God to work in our lives - Praying for the Church enables the love of Jesus to richly dwell amongst us (Ephesians 4:13).
ii)When we have unity we shall accomplish the work and mission that Jesus assigned us to do in the Great Commissioning (Matthew 28:19-20).
iii)Unity opens the doors of blessings.
iv)Unity gives us an environment conducive to do God's work.
v)Unity connects us to holiness of God - We are able to serve God's people joyfully.
vi)Unity helps us to offer thanksgiving to God.
vii)Unity draws us near to God.
Mrs.Diner's epilogue was simple: "Our unity will make us thrive and we shall not hunger nor thirst for righteousness."
Later on, the Mothers Union department had their fundraiser that raked in about *Ksh.800K*
(Minutes before the preaching was shared, the AreaDean and Vicar of Waithaka Parish, *Rev.Capt.Stanley Kinyanjui* spoke to the Congregants about upcoming activities. He mentioned a 3-day event dubbed _Turning Point Conference_ which is set to run from *_August 30 to September 1_*. The event shall bring together Preachers around Waithaka and musical guests)
