1. LESSON:
John 14:6 "Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
When Jesus came, He said that: "I am the way," meaning how to do things. He used to say if you need to know how to do things, watch me how I'm doing it, that's the way to do it. He said that; "I am the truth" because everything else is not true, he added to say that the opposite of how I act is not true; He is the one who brought the truth. The Bible tells us that He was the light that shone in the darkness, because every other way that is contrary to the Word of God is darkness. He said that: "I am the light of the world, he who follows me will not walk in the darkness!"
1 Corinthians 1:18-19 says "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: [" I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,] [And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent."]"
People have what they called their wisdom, what they called a way of life. People in the society have their own way of teaching from one generation to the next generation their way of life, which is against the way God planned. This is what the Bible calls the wisdom of the wise. They knew that there was a certain place they fell from, then they think and asked themselves, how can we return to that place? Everything that a person brought as an answer is what he called wisdom. A lot of people have many methods that they use while thinking that maybe this is the right; and they follow that path, others also take another, and that changes due to how one generation follows another.
On the cross, Jesus Christ ended all aspects of the old man. In the book of Isaiah, he speaks of it as a prophecy, he said that I will destroy, but here in this verse it was shown. Here, our work on earth is to reach the point of overthrowing what we call the wisdom of the wise, and establish a way of life or a system of life that corresponds to the Word of God. That's how we will be facing it right. Also, a person should not have anything to expect from the wisdom of the wise, because if they had anything, they would have already finished helping the world, the only person who can expect fruits is when he does what God says in His Word.
For example, a community or a family can say we want to change this area in this way or that, but when they go to things that are against what the Word of God says, they cannot change that area. The only way to change that area is to go through the Word, and really know how things are done in that area, and then put them into practice; it is therefore the only way that can help them to expect change. We cannot expect things to go well if we ignore God's Word. If we can follow what the Word says, things become easier for us.
2. FURTHER STUDY READ:
2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
3. THE QUESTION TO ASK YOURSELF IS:
Do I understand that nothing else can change my life except the Word of God?
4. CONFESSION:
I believe that is why I confess that I was born with the Word, the more I give myself to know the Word, the more I know myself and know what concern me. The more I look in the Word, the more I change into the image that I see, I am everything the word says about my life. Whoever wants to know me should look at me in the Word, that's why I move from one level of glory into another because of knowing it. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
