THE BATTLE YOU CAN NEVER WIN, NO MATTER WHO IS BACKING YOU.
Dear Servants of God All Over the World, Please Hear This Truth
The battle against your spiritual father is a battle you can never win, no matter who is backing you.
Do not even attempt it, because you will never succeed.
You may be anointed to kill Goliath, but you will never be anointed or permitted to kill Saul—no matter how much Saul has wronged you.
"And he said unto his men, The LORD forbid that I should do this thing unto my master, the LORD's anointed, to stretch forth mine hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the LORD."
—1 Samuel 24:6
You Cannot Erase the One Who Raised You
No matter how high you rise, you can never erase the man who lifted you up.
You cannot dishonor the man who made people honor you. (Malachi 1:6)
You cannot embarrass the man who gave you endorsement. (1 Samuel 16:12-13)
Never become a problem to the man who gave you a platform to rise. (2 Kings 2:9-10)
Why become a warfare to the man who took care of your welfare? (Genesis 14:18-20)
Do not become a disappointment to the man who gave you an appointment. (Numbers 27:18-20)
Betrayal Is a Curse, Not a Reward
How can a man invest so much into your life, and your “thank you” is to bring so much sorrow into his life?
Even when a spiritual father is wrong, that is not a license to fight him.
David was anointed by God but still understood that God had not permitted him to touch Saul:
"And David said unto Abishai, Destroy him not: for who can stretch forth his hand against the LORD's anointed, and be guiltless?"
—1 Samuel 26:9
Noah’s Drunkenness Was Not a License to Expose Him
Noah was not perfect, but his righteousness once saved his sons from destruction. (Genesis 6:8, 9:20-25)
One of his sons, Ham, saw his father’s nakedness and exposed him, forgetting that it was Noah's grace before God that kept them alive.
"And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without... And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him. And he said, Cursed be Canaan..."
—Genesis 9:22-25
Some sons think they are more righteous than the God who chose their fathers despite their weaknesses.
If you know the weakness of your father, it is because he gave you access you do not deserve.
Imagine if Noah had locked himself in his private room, no one would have seen his weakness. Ham would not have been cursed, and shame would have been avoided. (Proverbs 17:9)
Beware of Assistant Pastors Like Aaron
Assistant pastors and close associates can lead people into rebellion, but when judgment comes, they often escape while their followers suffer.
Aaron led the rebellion against Moses, but when leprosy was given, Miriam alone suffered for following him. (Numbers 12:1-10)
God Respects the Priesthood—Any Day, Any Time
Even when a priest makes a mistake, God deals with them in His own way and time.
"Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm."—Psalm 105:15
I am not here to defend the errors of spiritual fathers. If they do wrong and refuse to repent, their Heavenly Father will deal with them. (Romans 14:4)
However, I have seen sons fight their spiritual fathers on behalf of God, only for the same God to punish them. (2 Samuel 1:14-16)
If You Must Leave, Leave Quietly
If you ever find it necessary to leave a church, do it quietly—without causing turbulence. (1 Corinthians 14:40)
Every rebellion against spiritual authority reminds God of Satan’s rebellion against Him. (Isaiah 14:12-15)
Never forget this:
The person who came to tell King David that he had killed Saul—thinking he was bringing good news—was executed by David.
"And David said unto him, How wast thou not afraid to stretch forth thine hand to destroy the LORD'S anointed? ... And David said unto him, Thy blood be upon thy head; for thy mouth hath testified against thee, saying, I have slain the LORD'S anointed."
—2 Samuel 1:14-16
