Though her time among us was brief, her life was a fragrant offering—quiet yet deeply beautiful. Jasmine moved through this world like a soft breeze through the trees: bringing joy, touching hearts, and leaving the scent of love and goodness behind.

Now she has taken flight to a realm where sorrow cannot enter—a place of peace, beauty, and eternal light. We believe that her soul, like a precious gem, continues to shine in the heavenly worlds of God, growing more radiant with every step.

We share your grief, and also your hope. For those we love are never lost; they are transformed, held in divine embrace, and their love walks beside us always.

Today, the President spent the night in the home region of the opposition leader — a powerful gesture of national unity ahead of Madaraka Day celebrations.

This moment speaks volumes about the maturity of Kenya’s democracy — a country where leaders, despite their political differences, can come together in the spirit of patriotism and shared responsibility. As we commemorate our journey to self-governance, this show of solidarity reminds us that democracy is not just about elections, but about cooperation, inclusion, and putting the nation above individual interests.

However, as we mark this important day, we also humbly ask our President to extend a hand of compassion to the many families across the country who are struggling. The cost of food remains high, and many households cannot afford basic necessities. We appeal for a reduction in food commodity prices to ease the burden on ordinary citizens.

We also ask for an increase in the Inua Jamii funds — especially for orphans, children from poor families, people with disabilities, and vulnerable communities — so that they too can live with dignity. Education, which is the greatest equalizer, remains out of reach for many children due to high costs. No child in Kenya should be left behind simply because of poverty.

As we raise our flag and celebrate our independence, let us also raise our voices for equity, compassion, and opportunity for every Kenyan — especially the most vulnerable.

Happy Madaraka Day Celebrations to all Kenyans. May our democracy continue to grow stronger, and may justice and prosperity reach every corner of our great nation. 🇰🇪
