Working out our salvation

Philippians 2
[12]Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;
[13]for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
[14]Do all things without complaining and disputing,

Reflection
* Salvation is a free gift. "Working it out" means putting that internal faith into external action—allowing God's grace to shape how you live, love, and serve.

* The command is followed by verse 13, "for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose," which explains that the ability to "work out" salvation ultimately comes from God, not personal strength. We are limited and unless we look upon the cross, our service to God will never yield much and therefore we need to actively live out the spiritual transformation that God has already placed inside us.

* When you see all that our Lord Jesus has done for you and what He is doing even now, you’ll find it easy to work out your salvation in the way you treat others. You’ll be able to relate to others and carry out your responsibilities with a spirit of love, honor, and humility without finding fault

Prayer
Dear Lord, we thank you for the grace upon our lives today. We pray to actively live out and manifest the joy of salvation in all our dealings by building a healthy, humble, and loving community that reflects Jesus to the outside world

In Jesus Name

Amen

God Does Not Call the Qualified, He Qualifies the Called

Scripture:
“Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.” — Exodus 4:12

When God called Moses, he felt unqualified and full of doubt. Yet God reminded him that success would not come from his own strength, but from God’s presence and guidance.

Many times, we also feel inadequate when faced with leadership, ministry, work, studies, business, or family responsibilities. But God does not wait for perfect people — He equips those He calls.

As we step out this week into different assignments and responsibilities, may we remember that God goes before us. The same God who calls us will give us wisdom, strength, favor, and courage for every task ahead.

Prayer
Lord, as we step out this week, help us to trust in Your calling and not our own limitations. Equip us for every responsibility before us and guide us in Your purpose and victory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Being Thankful

Luke 17:18
" Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?"

Reflection
* In Luke 17 we read of the Samaritan l***r who came back to thank Jesus for healing him (vs 15-16). Jesus entered a village where he met l***rs who all asked him for healing for healing and all of them experienced His grace and power of healing but only one returned to express his gratitude, praising God for the miracle

* Every day, we experience God's blessings in multiple ways. It could be instant answered prayer. Sometimes blessings can come in ordinary ways too, such as good weather to accomplish an outdoor task. Like the Samaritan l***r, let's remember to thank God for His love, grace, mercy and kindness towards us.

* Jesus highlights that true faith and gratitude are not limited by ethnic or religious heritage; often, those with the least "spiritual privilege" are the most responsive to God's grace

What can you thank God for today?

Make a deliberate effort to cultivate a heart of gratitude.

Prayer
Almighty Father You have been so good to us , we thank you for the many blessings upon our lives. May you help us never to forget our humble beginnings and always desire to have a heart of gratitude

In Jesus Name

Amen

It shall be well

Isaiah 3:10

Tell the righteous that it will be
well with him, for they will partake of the fruit of their actions.

Reflection
This verse was written in the middle of crisis. When everyone was doing as it pleased them there were still some righteous men among the people.

Being “righteous” doesn’t mean living without mistakes,it means choosing to walk in integrity, to seek what is good, and to stay aligned with God even when it’s difficult.

This verse is a quiet assurance that your efforts are not wasted. There is a future, a covering, and a peace that comes from living rightly.

You may face uncertainty today. Plans may not go as expected. But this promise reminds you that your outcome is not determined only by circumstances you are now,it is shaped by your faith, your choices, and God’s faithfulness.

So step into this morning with confidence, knowing that you have hope in this hopeless world.
Your path will be guided.Your life will bear good fruit in time.
Even in challenges, it shall be well with you. Because is a promise from God.

Prayer
Lord, thank You for the promise that it shall be well with me. Help me to walk in righteousness today,in my thoughts, words, and actions. When I face difficulty, remind me that You are with me and that my future is secure in You. In Jesus name, Amen.

Taking firm a stand in God

Daniel 3:16-18....
[17]If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king.
[18]But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.” Saved in Fiery Trial

Reflection
* Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego decided to stand their ground against the powerful, pagan King Nebuchadnezzar. They refused to worship his golden statue because they worshipped only the Lord Almighty.

* When they refused to bow down to the statue, the king threw them into a blazing furnace. Nebuchadnezzar did so proudly, thinking that he had power over them. But to his shock, a fourth person was in the fire with them, and God rescued the young men.

* The fact that God sometimes seems silent when his children are threatened does not mean he is powerless to save. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego knew God was able to save them, but that is not why they worshipped him. They worshipped God because he is the one true and powerful God.

_Our worship to God should not depend on the good things God does for us but on who he is, the Lord of all creation. Therefore let's worship the true God and powerful God our Maker._

Prayer
Heavenly Father, we are so grateful today for the gift of life. May our focus remain in your promises even when situations seem unbearable. Grant us the zeal and boldness to worship You always in truth and in spirit

In Jesus Name

Amen.

The joy of the lord is my strength

Nehemiah 8:10
Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat rich food and drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared, for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not be sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength

Reflection
The original moment when this was spoken in the book of Nehemiah was actually a time when people felt weak, convicted, and overwhelmed. Yet they were told not to mourn, because God’s joy would carry them forward.

That means even on days when you feel tired, uncertain, or burdened, you are not running on empty, you are invited to draw from something greater.

God’s joy is not dependent on everything going right. It comes from knowing you are seen, loved, and held. When you lean into that truth, strength follows, not always as sudden power, but as quiet endurance, patience, and peace.

Prayer
Lord, thank You that my strength today doesn’t depend on me alone. Fill my heart with Your joy, steady, deep, and unshaken. Help me walk through this day with confidence, knowing You are with me. In Jesus name Amen.

Choose Wisdom

Proverbs 3 vs 1-2
[1]My son, do not forget my teaching,
but keep my commands in your heart,
[2]for they will prolong your life many years
and bring you peace and prosperity.
Wisdom From Trusting God

Reflection
* The verse instructs Christians to keep commands in the heart, not just the head. True wisdom enters the heart, controlling emotions, desires, and actions.

* Obedience should not be outward conformity alone, but a deep desire rooted in love for God. We are warned not to forget or intentionally dismiss God’s Wisdom when making daily life choices. Yes, God is in control, but we need to be asking Him for His counsel. His wisdom.

* As children of God, we ought to watch our hearts for it is the first thing that wanders away from Him. God wants us to live in obedience, not relying on our own understanding

When our thoughts align with God’s thoughts, our minds will be renewed. All the promises and blessings of God will be unlocked and manifest in our lives.

Prayer
Our Father, Your Word is the light of this world, may we endevour to seek enlightenment through it each day. In James 1 vs 5 -8, you have promised to give wisdom without measure to those who ask, and that's our prayer too. Guide us over the week and show us the right path to follow

Welcome to our devotion

Starting with God

Psalm 143:8
“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.”

Reflection
* David was a man after God’s own heart, and yet, he too needed daily reassurance of God’s love. Starting your day with the knowledge of God's unfailing love is a powerful reminder of his constant care upon us.

* The "morning" signifies a fresh start and the desire to receive God's mercy first, before the stresses of the day arrive. It highlights that trusting God means taking time for Him to set our daily course.

* Remember, once we experience the empowerment of beginning our day with God, we will never want to start it without Him, because when we are walking in fellowship with Jesus, everyone around us can be blessed with the loving presence of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer
Mighty Father, Thank You for assuring us that Your loving-kindness and mercy is new every morning. Lord, make known to us the way we should go. In the little things of our daily lives, lead us, guide us by your Spirit, for without You we can never achieve anything.

In Jesus Name

Amen

Welcome to our Devotion

The Lord is not far from us

Psalms 34
[17]The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles.
[18]The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.
[19]Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all.

Reflection
* While we often feel God is furthest when we hurt, the truth is that He is most present. Sorrow does not push God away; it pulls Him close

* In moments of deep sorrow, God isn't just watching the afflictions pile up; He is actively standing in the gap. Vs 18 assures that "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted". He is described as the "Father of compassion and the God of all comfort" who sustains us when our own strength fails.

* God uses our seasons of affliction to also deepen our faith and shape us into the image of Christ. Our grief is not wasted; it becomes the ground where God does His most intimate restorative work, nothing happens without His knowledge, let's trust Him and cast all our anxieties to him

Prayer : Thank You Lord for the assurance that You are near to the brokenhearted, even when Your presence isn't much felt. We bring our brokenness to You, trusting in Your promise to save and sustain us. May Your comforting peace remain with us now and forever more.

Amen....

Morning Devotion

Jesus endured suffering on the cross to set us free from the bo***ge of sin

1 Peter 2
[21]For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:
[24]who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.

Reflection
* Jesus endured extreme physical torture, including flogging (which often tore flesh to the bone) and the slow, excruciating process of crucifixion inorder to reconcile us back to God.

* The crucifixion was a triumph over Satan and the fear of death, which was fully confirmed by the resurrection three days later. The cross represents the end of the "old self" and the beginning of a new life for believers, who are called to "take up their cross" daily

* Following Jesus calls for complete surrender of one's own will, ambitions, and bad habits in favor of God’s will, we can only be true disciples if we adhere to his will and die to self in order to find true life

Prayer
Father, thank You for offering Jesus to die for our sins, today we have free access to You. You have bestowed undeserved grace upon us by giving us the best gift we could ever receive, the gift of salvation. Thank you for loving us unconditionally

In Jesus Name

Amen

Morning Devotion – 25/03/2026

Theme: Running the Race with Focus

Hebrews 12:1–2 reminds us that we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses, and therefore we must lay aside *every weight* and the *sin* that so easily entangles us, and run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.

Beloved, the Christian life is not a sprint, it is a race. And not just any race, but one that requires *endurance* , *discipline* , and *focus* . Many begin well, but along the way, distractions, burdens, and sin weigh them down.

This morning, the Word challenges us to do *three things* :

1. Lay Aside Every Weight
Not everything weighing you down is sin. Some things are simply distractions: habits, relationships, fears, or even comfort zones that slow your spiritual progress. What is holding you back today?

2. Run with Perseverance
The journey of faith requires consistency. There will be seasons of difficulty, discouragement, and delay. But we are called to keep running, not quitting, not slowing down, but pressing on.

3. Fix Your Eyes on Jesus
Our strength is not in ourselves but in Christ. When we look at people, situations, or challenges, we may lose heart. But when our focus remains on Jesus, the One who started and completes our faith, we find the grace to continue.

Prayer
Lord, help us to lay aside every burden that slows us down. Give us the strength to run this race with perseverance, and keep our eyes fixed on You. May we not be distracted, discouraged, or defeated along the way. Help us to finish well, for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
