Psalm 91 Prayer for our Families
(Based on the Amplified Bible, Classic Edition)
Heavenly Father,
Thank You that our family dwells in the secret place of the Most High, and remains stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty, whose power no foe can withstand.
We say of You, Lord:
“You are our Refuge and our Fortress, our God; on You we lean and rely, and in You we confidently trust.”
Surely, You deliver our family from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.
You cover us with Your feathers, and under Your wings we find refuge. Your truth and faithfulness are our shield and buckler.
We will not be afraid of:
- the terror of the night,
- the arrow that flies by day,
- the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
- or the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
A thousand may fall at our side, ten thousand at our right hand—but it shall not come near us.
We are spectators, safe in Your secret place, as we see the reward of the wicked.
Because we have made You—our Refuge, the Most High—our dwelling place, no evil shall befall us, nor shall any plague come near our home.
For You have given Your angels charge over us to accompany, defend, and preserve us in all our ways.
They lift us up in their hands, so we will not even strike our foot against a stone.
We tread upon the lion and the cobra—We trample the young lion and the serpent underfoot.
Because we set our love upon You, Lord, You deliver us.
You set us on high because we know and understand Your Name. We trust in You and cling to You in faith.
When we call on You, You answer us. You are with us in trouble, You deliver us and honor us.
With long life, You satisfy us and show us Your salvation.
