Let's today have a recap of Sunday's Bible Study as taught by Elder Mrs Njugana about:
PRACTICLE CHRIATIAN LIVING LESSON 4
WORK AND INTEGRITY.....
LESSON 4; Work and Integrity.
Learning Objectives
Understand God’s purpose for work.
Develop diligence and responsibility.
Practice integrity in all areas of life.
Manage resources wisely and responsibly.
Honor God with earnings and possessions.
Colossians 3:23-24 23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
1. Work as God's Design
Genesis 2:15 15 The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.
-God placed Adam in the Garden of Eden to work and care for it. Work is part of God's original plan for humanity.
2. Working Diligently
Proverbs 12:24 4 Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in forced labor.
Proverbs 6:6-8 6 Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! 7 It has no commander, no overseer or ruler 8 yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.
3. Be a person of integrity
Proverbs 10:9 9 Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.
Proverbs 11 3 The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.
Matthew 25:15-18, 26-29 15 To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag,[a] each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. 16 The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more. 17 So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. 18 But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money. 26 “His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? 27 Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest. 28 “‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. 29 For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.
4. Manage earnings responsibly.
Proverbs 21:20 20 The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down.
Proverbs 27:23-24 23 Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds; 24 for riches do not endure forever, and a crown is not secure for all generations.
-plan well, nothing in permanent, not even income coz people retire.
-statistics show that most retirees in Kenya are poor coz they didn't invest/save/plan.
1 Timothy 5:8 8 Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
- Provide for your household.
5. Be thankful and Honor God with your resources, including tithes and offerings.
Proverbs 3:9-10 9 Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops;
10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.
Deutronomy 8: 10-11,17-18 10 When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the Lord your God for the good land he has given you. 11 Be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees that I am giving you this day. 17 You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” 18 But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.
