Many people are financially struggling not because they lack talent, intelligence, or potential, but because they are operating outside certain spiritual and practical principles that govern increase.
Money is not only economic. In many ways, it is also spiritual.
Here are ten important principles every believer should understand concerning wealth and stewardship:
1οΈβ£ π§ππ π£π₯ππ‘πππ£ππ π’π π¦π’π‘π¦πππ£
Wealth flows through identity and responsibility.
A servant works mainly for wages, but a son understands inheritance, stewardship, and covenant relationship.
Your understanding of who you are in Christ affects your confidence, decisions, and expectations.
π Romans 8:17
βIf children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ.β
2οΈβ£ π§ππ π£π₯ππ‘πππ£ππ π’π πππ©π’π¨π₯
There are opportunities that qualifications alone cannot open.
Divine favour positions people for uncommon opportunities, relationships, and breakthroughs.
One moment of favour can change the direction of a life.
π Psalm 5:12
βFor thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.β
3οΈβ£ π§ππ π£π₯ππ‘πππ£ππ π’π π§ππ ππ’π©ππ‘ππ‘π§
Scripture teaches that God gives people power, ability, wisdom, and opportunity to create wealth.
True prosperity is not only built on human effort, but also on obedience, stewardship, diligence, and Godβs faithfulness.
π Deuteronomy 8:18
βBut thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealthβ¦β
4οΈβ£ π§ππ π£π₯ππ‘πππ£ππ π’π π¦π’πͺππ‘π
Every harvest begins with a seed.
Time, service, generosity, discipline, consistency, knowledge, and finances are all forms of seed.
People often desire harvests in areas where they have planted nothing.
π Genesis 8:22
βWhile the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvestβ¦ shall not cease.β
5οΈβ£ π§ππ π£π₯ππ‘πππ£ππ π’π π’ππππππ‘ππ ππ‘π ππ‘π¦π§π₯π¨ππ§ππ’π‘
Breakthrough is often connected to obedience.
Throughout Scripture, many people experienced supernatural provision because they followed divine instruction even when it did not make sense naturally.
Wisdom listens carefully before acting.
π 2 Chronicles 20:20
βBelieve in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.β
6οΈβ£ π§ππ π£π₯ππ‘πππ£ππ π’π πͺππ¦ππ’π
Wisdom protects wealth and multiplies resources.
Money without wisdom is easily wasted.
Wise people learn, plan, build carefully, avoid destructive habits, and think beyond temporary pleasure.
π Proverbs 8:18
βRiches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.β
7οΈβ£ π§ππ π£π₯ππ‘πππ£ππ π’π πππ¦π§ππ‘π ππ‘π π¦π£ππ₯ππ§π¨ππ πππ¦πππ£πππ‘π
Fasting helps believers develop spiritual sensitivity, discipline, focus, and dependence on God.
It is not merely abstaining from food, but positioning oneself spiritually through prayer, humility, and consecration.
π Isaiah 58:6
βIs not this the fast that I have chosen to loose the bands of wickednessβ¦β
8οΈβ£ π§ππ π£π₯ππ‘πππ£ππ π’π ππ’π‘π’π¨π₯
Honour opens doors for relationships, trust, learning, and blessing.
Scripture teaches believers to honour God, parents, spiritual authority, and people deserving respect.
Dishonour often destroys opportunities that pride cannot restore.
π Proverbs 3:9
βHonour the Lord with thy substance and with the firstfruits of all thine increase.β
9οΈβ£ π§ππ π£π₯ππ‘πππ£ππ π’π ππππ§π
Faith gives people courage to act, persevere, build, and trust God even when circumstances seem uncertain.
Without faith, many people give up too early.
Faith sees possibility where fear only sees obstacles.
π Hebrews 11:1
βNow faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.β
π π§ππ π£π₯ππ‘πππ£ππ π’π πππ©ππ‘π πππ₯πππ§ππ’π‘
Hard work alone is not enough if a person is moving in the wrong direction.
Many struggle for years because they are investing energy into assignments, decisions, or paths that God never intended for them.
Seek Godβs guidance continually.
π Proverbs 3:6
βIn all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.β
True wealth is not merely about money.
It includes wisdom, peace, purpose, stewardship, godly character, and the ability to impact generations positively.
May God give us wisdom to handle resources faithfully and build lives that glorify Him.
β Apostle Godwin Aseghiemhe
