Designed to Withstand

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair. (2 Corinthians 4:8, NIV)

The apostle Paul went through all kinds of unfair situations. He was beaten with rods, falsely accused of crimes, lied about by others, put in prison for years, and shipwrecked. He could have been overwhelmed and crushed under the pressure. Yet he is the one who wrote, “Thanks be to God who always causes us to triumph.” He understood that God doesn’t let you face what you can’t handle. If you stay in faith as Paul did, you’ll discover you’ve been designed to withstand the pressure. You’ll find that the enemy can’t come up with a scheme to outwit the God who created you. He can’t send a storm that’s so powerful that your walls get blown down. You may be hard pressed, but you will not be crushed. Paul was saying we’ve been designed for the difficulty. God has taken into account all the weight, all the trouble, and all the bad breaks, and He’s given you the strength, the courage, and the fortitude to withstand.

Are you believing what you’re seeing, or are you believing what you’re reading in God’s Word? What you see may be lack and struggle, but what God is speaking to you is abundance, healing, breakthroughs, and new levels. Don’t reduce what God’s promised you to fit your faith. Stretch your faith and come up to His level. Every word He promises will come to pass.

Pray:
“Father, thank You for being the God who always leads me to triumph. Thank You that You have designed me to withstand pressure even when I amhard-pressedd by it. I believe that You have taken into account all that I need and are supplying me with the strength to overcome. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

May you experience the Greatness of God even in that situation you are in today.

Don’t Change Your Name

Today’s Scripture
Ruth 1:20–21, NIV
Call me Mara, because the Almighty has made my life very bitter. I went away full, but the LORD has brought me back empty.

Today’s Word
After Naomi first lost her husband in death and then her two married sons, she was so discouraged that she tried to change her name from Naomi, which means "my joy," to Mara, which means "bitter." She was telling people, "I'm bitter. I'm broken. My dreams are shattered. Just let me live in my pain." Sure, she had suffered through deep losses, but that didn't mean God was finished with her. God ultimately turned her circumstances around, and she went on to see her best days.

Have you changed your name, so to speak, to Mara? Are you living bitter and negative, thinking and rethinking about everything that didn't work out? What you've gone through may have been difficult and painful, but God knows how to bring good out of it. Do yourself a favor and go back to being who God created you to be. God didn't change your name. He still calls you blessed, prosperous, favored, healthy, strong, and victorious. Go back to your original name.

Prayer for Today
Father, thank You for promising me grace for every season, and You won't allow me to go through more than what I can handle. Thank You that You will bring good out of the unfair things that I've gone through. I will not change my name from what You call me. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Help Others along the Way

May all kings bow down to him and all nations serve him. For he will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help.
(Psalm 72:11–12, NIV)

In Psalm 72, King Solomon asked God to make him well known, that his fame would spread throughout the land, that the wealth and honor of other nations would be brought to him, and that kings would bow down before him. You would think God would rebuke Solomon and tell him he was greedy and prideful, but He did exactly what he asked for. God answered that bold prayer because Solomon pledged to use his influence and wealth to lift the fallen, restore the broken, and help the hurting.

God has no problem giving you influence, honor, wealth, and even fame, as long as your dream, in some way, is connected to helping others, to making this world a better place. Whatever field you’re in—medicine, sales, construction, accounting, teaching—I dare you to pray, “God, make me famous in my field. Let me shine. Give me influence.” There’s no limit to what God will do for you if you use what He’s given you to help others.

Pray

“Father, thank You that You want me to lift the fallen, to restore the broken, and to help the hurting. I want in every way possible to advance Your kingdom and bring glory to Your Name. I ask You to give me influence and make me famous in my field. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Amos 9:15

I will plant Israel in their own land, never again to be uprooted from the land I have given them,” says the Lord your God.

May God plant you this day in your own land and never to be uprooted in Jesus Name

*Your Seed Determines Your Harvest*

“Don’t be misled — you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.”
(Galatians 6:7)

Have you ever looked at a large, old tree and wondered how long it has been there? It’s amazing to think that at one point that gigantic tree was merely a tiny seed. In the same way, our words and actions are seeds. Our words may be small, but they grow when they are planted. We will always reap a harvest on what we sow!

Think about the types of seeds you have been sowing. Are you sowing encouragement, hope, blessing, love? Then that’s what you’ll reap in the future. But if you’ve been sowing criticism, judgment and anger, you’re probably already reaping a bad harvest. It’s time to start changing your seed.

Today, I encourage you to pray and ask God to help you uproot any negative seeds you may have planted in the past and begin sowing good seeds for your future. As you stay obedient to the Word of God, you’ll see those seeds grow. You’ll rise up higher and enjoy the harvest of blessing God has promised you.

*I PRAY TODAY*

Father, search my heart today. Show me any bad seeds that need to be uprooted. Help me, by Your Spirit, to plant good seeds for my future. Use me for Your glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.
