Sunday 23 rd August 2026
Theme: Coming Before God with our Needs.
Key scriptures: Psalms 18:6; Psalms 69:33-35

There are moments when you face very difficult situations that you cannot call upon your family, friends or strangers online but only God. In such situations distress may be near but God always has a plan. First to scriptures.

Psalm 18:6
[6]In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears.(NIV)

David is not praying from a palace here, he is praying from distress. God is not intimidated by your distress. That's actually the invitation. Some of us think we must come to God when we are okay. David shows us, come when you are broken.God doesn't measure grammar, He measures honesty. A cry from the heart reaches heaven faster. You may feel unheard by people, but you are never unheard by God.

Psalm 69:33-34
"The Lord hears the needy and does not despise his captive people.Let heaven and earth praise him, the seas and all that move in them,"

This is the character of the God you called β€” "He hears the needy and does not despise His people."So when you come before God with your need:God is not looking for the strong, He is listening for the needy.People may despise you because of your need or your captivity β€” your situation, your sin, your struggle. But God does not despise His captive people. He doesn't turn His nose up at you. He turns His ear toward you.God saves and rebuilds what was broken.

What is the call in spirit?
Psalm 69:35
[35]for God will save Zion and rebuild the cities of Judah. Then people will settle there and possess it;

God doesn't just hear you and leave you in captivity. He hears you to SAVE you and REBUILD your cities β€” your family, your health, your life.Your need that you brought before God becomes your testimony to praise Him.

May God meet you at the point of your needs according to the power that works in you to the glory and honour of his name.

Sunday August 2026.
Theme: Fasting
Key Scriptures:Mathew 17:21, Nehemiah 1:4-6, Joel 2:12; Mathew 11:9-12.

Fasting is not about starving the body to impress God. It is about starving the flesh so that the spirit can hear clearly.

Matthew 17:21
"However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”(NIV)

Jesus tells us that there are some battles, some chains, and some mountains that prayer alone will not move for they require the added discipline of fasting. Fasting sharpens our sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, breaks spiritual resistance, and positions us for breakthrough. It is in the place of hunger that we feed on the Word, and in the place of weakness that God’s strength is made perfect.

Nehemiah 1:4-6
"When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven. Then I said: β€œLord, the God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and keep his commandments, let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear the prayer your servant is praying before you day and night for your servants, the people of Israel. I confess the sins we Israelites, including myself and my father’s family, have committed against you." (NIV)

Nehemiah heard that Jerusalem’s walls were broken and the people were in disgrace. He didn’t just feel sad and move on. He sat down and wept and fasted before God.Fasting starts with a burden. When God puts something on your heart;a family, a church, a nation ;fasting is how you carry it to God instead of just carrying it in your mind.In the middle of pain, Nehemiah didn’t complain first. He worshipped first.
"O Lord God of heaven, the great and awesome God who keeps covenant...”
Fasting pushes us past panic and into perspective. We remember who God is before we ask Him what to do. Hunger quiets the flesh so we can see God’s greatness again.Fasting makes prayer sharper. Nehemiah wasn’t praying vague prayers. He was interceding for a broken wall, a broken people, and a broken reputation.
He also included himself: "I and my father’s house have sinned.”
Fasting breaks pride. It puts us on our knees with the people we’re praying for.

Joel 2:12
"Even now,” declares the Lord, β€œreturn to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” (NIV).

Fasting isn’t about looking spiritual. It’s about a broken, honest heart before God.We don’t fast to earn Him. We fast because He’s already good, and we want more of Him.It’s not religion. It’s relationship. We should repent and God because He is gracious, compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love will forgive us and avert any calamity.

Luke 11:9-13
β€œSo I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.β€œWhich of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead?Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”(NIV)

God isn’t distant. He’s a Father. And a Father answers hungry children. Fasting pushes past panic into dependence. It sharpens prayer. And it positions us to receive from a good Father who loves to answer.
So the pattern is:
Burden β†’ Fasting β†’ Prayer β†’ God answers.
Because He’s good, and because we’re asking with our whole heart.

Sunday 26 th July 2026.

Theme: Light God’s Fire In You.

Key Scriptures: Proverbs 26:20-21, Leviticus 26:20-21; 6:12-13.

"Without wood a fire goes out; without a gossip a quarrel dies down.As charcoal to embers and as wood to fire, so is a quarrelsome person for kindling strife." Proverbs 26:20-21(NIV).

Every home needs light at night. Every believer needs fire in their heart. Today, God is asking: "What kind of wood are you putting on your altar?"

Every fire needs fuel.
Proverbs tells us 2 truths about fire:
1. Wrong fuel kills Without wood a fire goes out.Gossip, strife, bitterness, and quarrels are the wood that keeps the devil’s fire burning in homes, churches, and even in our hearts. Remove the wood, and that fire dies.

2. Right fuel ignites. If bad wood can keep a bad fire alive, then God’s Word, prayer, worship, and obedience can keep God’s fire alive in you.
Too many of us are carrying cold altars. We were on fire at salvation, at that prayer meeting, at that testimony. But now the wood is gone. No prayer. No Word. No fellowship. So the fire went out. Today you are called upon to remove the wrong fuel that kills your fire and add the right wood to fuel your fire.

Leviticus 6:12-13
"The fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must not go out. Every morning the priest is to add firewood and arrange the burnt offering on the fire and burn the fat of the fellowship offerings on it.The fire must be kept burning on the altar continuously; it must not go out." (NIV)

In the Old Testament, God commanded the priest: "Keep the fire burning. Don’t let it go out." That fire was God’s fire. It came from Him, but it was man’s job to feed it daily.Proverbs 26 says fire needs wood. Leviticus 6 says God’s fire needs a keeper.Your heart is the altar. The Holy Spirit is the fire God lit in you at salvation. But you are the priest. Every morning you must add the wood - prayer Word, worship - or the fire goes out."

What is the call in spirit?

Leviticus 10:1-2
"Aaron’s sons Nadab and Abihu took their censers, put fire in them and added incense; and they offered unauthorized fire before the Lord, contrary to his command. So fire came out from the presence of the Lord and consumed them, and they died before the Lord."(NIV)

God cares how we keep the fire burning.Don’t bring strange fire, or there are consequences.

Nadab and Abihu brought fire God never commanded. It looked like worship, but it wasn’t His fire. So God’s judgment came swiftly to them.God is still holy today. He wants His fire on His altar. Don’t fake it with religious routine, sin, or compromise. That’s strange fire.
Light God’s fire in you the right way, or it will go out.

Sunday 19 Jul 2026.
Theme: Living with sin.
Key Scriptures: Romans 7:15-24, Colossians 2:6-7.

Have you ever said, β€œI don’t want to do this again” and then did it anyway? That’s exactly where Paul is in Romans 7. He’s describing what it feels like to be living with sin. You are on the right trajectory for that's how the path of salvation is laden with obstacles. First to the scriptures.

"I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good.As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me.For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out."For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to doβ€”this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me.For in my inner being I delight in God’s law;but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me." Romans 7:15-24 (NIV).

The Struggle is Real .Paul says "I do not understand what I do... I do what I hate.”If you’re fighting sin, that’s good news. It means you have a new heart. Dead people don’t fight. Only alive people struggle.

The Reason is the Flesh .There’s a war inside us. Our new nature delights in God’s law. But our flesh has another law pulling us down. Living with sin means the weeds are still in the garden. But the flowers are growing too.

The Solution is Christ .Paul ends in desperation: "Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me?”Then he answers: β€œThanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!”We don’t win by willpower. We win by running to Jesus every time we fall.

What is the call in spirit?

Colossians 2:6-7
"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness."

Continue in Him. You got saved by faith. Fight sin the same way. Don’t rely on willpower. Rely on Jesus daily.Be Rooted and Built Up.Sin will come like wind. If you’re rooted in Christ through Word, prayer, and fellowship, you won’t fall.Overflow with ThanksDon’t wallow in shame. Thank God your deliverer is Jesus. A thankful heart gets back up.
