*SEE GOD MOVING!*

30th September, 2021

READ: *1 Kings 17:8-24*

_…this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation._

*Isaiah 25:9*

*Many things you have experienced are supernatural.* The supernatural is both real and biblical. In the ministry of the prophet Elijah, you see a widow who received a supernatural miracle.
Elijah prophesied that she and her household would lack no food throughout the period of the famine. That prophecy came to pass! *However, she secretly did not believe that the supernatural had occurred in her life.*

However, when her child died and Elijah brought him back to life, she made a very significant statement.
She said, “ _Now I know that you are a man of God._” An analysis of her words is very revealing.

This means that all along she didn’t really believe that she was experiencing the supernatural. *The miracle of multiplying food did not seem supernatural to this woman.* Many Christians make this mistake. They want the spectacular. *They want things to be dramatic; otherwise, they will not believe that God is moving.* If you have this attitude, you will miss the supernatural move of God.

*I believe I had a supernatural call to serve the Lord, although I did not experience the call of God with thundering and lightning and I have not seen Jesus in person.*

The call of God on my life has simply been a conviction, a conviction to serve Him; a conviction to do my best, a conviction to obey the desires that He has placed on my heart.

*1 Kings 17:8-24 KJV*

8 And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,

9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.

10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.

11 And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.

12 And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.

14 For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.

15 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.

16 And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.

17 And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.

18 And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?

19 And he said unto her, Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into a loft, where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed.

20 And he cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?

21 And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, I pray thee, let this child's soul come into him again.

22 And the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.

23 And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth.

24 And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the LORD in thy mouth is truth.

*Proverbs 16:7*

*I have realized that as human beings, most of us want people to be impressed with us.* We wish the people around us would be impressed with what we have: our cars, our appearance etc.

Sometimes, people go to the extent of going for bank loans in order to live a certain kind of lifestyle to impress friends.

*Many people live above their means because they want to present a certain image of themselves.* Such a person may be regarded as wealthy and living in luxury when in reality, he is living on borrowed glory.
Soon his creditors will catch up with him, and the image he has built around himself will come crumbling down! That is when the people he has deceived will be disappointed and unimpressed with him.

*It is good to be liberated from that constant desire to impress others!* If I had tried to impress people, our church, Lighthouse Chapel International would not have gotten to this stage. I would have spent our income on impressive cars, clothes and lifestyles, trying to impress those on the outside.

There is no need to impress anyone. *If you are a worthy person, people will get to know who you are, what you are, and what you are made up of!* It is just a matter of time! *Do not be impressive on the outside and unimpressive on the inside.*

23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cu**in, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

24 Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.

25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.

26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.

27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.

28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

_To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life._

*Romans 2:7*

New International Version

*God allows all Christians to be offended.* He will then observe whether you will obey His Word or not. Will you forgive the one who has offended you? *When you walk in forgiveness, you attract God’s mercy.* Blessed are the merciful because they shall receive God’s mercy. *If you fail the test of hurts and offences, you exclude yourself from the mercy of God.* When bitterness is in your spirit, you will no longer receive from God and He no longer answers your prayers.

Years ago, a minister said something, which I took seriously. He said, “It is important to always maintain a sweet spirit!” *We must learn to live without bitterness.*

When you go through the fire of financial difficulties, please do not succumb to the pressure. *Do not become a murmurer. Do not become a complainer and do not become a thief!* When you come under pressure in your marriage, please do not give up. Do not separate or divorce. Fight to achieve happiness. *To survive, you need determination and a whole lot of faith.* Be a survivor! I see you making it!

Someone asked me, “ *What have you been through? What have you survived?” “What have you suffered?”* You see, the things a person has survived speak volumes about him. *The credentials of survived tests are greater than the credentials of any educational institution*

*Acts 16:16-34 KJV*

16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:

17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

19 And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers,

20 And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city,

21 And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans.

22 And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them.

23 And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:

24 Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.

25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.

27 And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.

28 But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.

29 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,

30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

34 And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

*SPEAKING IN TONGUES*

6th September, 2021

READ: *Acts 19:1-7*

_But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God…because they are spiritually discerned._

*1 Corinthians 2:14*

*As a high school student, I remember organizing a meeting for those who wanted to receive the Holy Spirit.*

The meeting was held one Saturday. As we gathered in the classroom, I was very hopeful and expectant. After preaching on the baptism of the Holy Spirit, this minister prayed for us. *Afterwards, I realized that almost everybody had received the Holy Spirit and was speaking in other tongues, except me.* I couldn’t believe it!

Later one morning while lying on my bed, *I routinely asked the Lord to fill me with his Holy Spirit.* Before I was aware, I heard a beautiful language coming out of my spirit. I was speaking in tongues at last. I was so happy that I didn’t stop praying in tongues for three hours. I was afraid that the Holy Spirit would go away if I stopped praying! I was afraid that if I stopped praying in tongues, I would not be able to start again.

The question is, “ _Why did it take me six weeks before I received the Holy Spirit?_” The Bible gives us the answer: the natural man receives not! *If you are very logical, calculating, critical, analytical and judgmental, you are being natural.* When you are natural, you will not and cannot receive (1 Corinthians 3:1).

*The Bible says that supernatural things are foolishness to people who are natural.* Spiritual people are those who can receive the supernatural. *A truly mature Christian is a spiritual person.* A mature person knows God.

*Acts 19:1-7 KJV*

1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

7 And all the men were about twelve.

*MADE VISIBLE*

3rd September, 2021

READ: *1 Corinthians 12:1-11*

_But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal._

*1 Corinthians 12:7*

Notice that in the above Scripture, Paul talks about the “ _manifestation of the Spirit._” The word “manifestation” used here is the Greek word phanerosis which means, “ _to make visible._” *In other words, the making visible of the Holy Spirit is given for everybody’s benefit.* The Holy Ghost is alive in us, and there are times when He makes Himself visible to the Church. *Everyone needs the Holy Spirit to be made visible from time to time; that is, to be made tangible and available.*

Phanerosis which is translated also means, “a sign, an expression, a demonstration, the symptom, the appearance and the materialization of an invisible thing”.

Many times you can feel the presence of the Holy Ghost at meetings; He is making Himself visible. Sometimes in my meetings, I have sensed the Holy Spirit move on the stage, move to the back of the auditorium or sweep through the balcony. I have seen the Holy Spirit bring healing to people in the congregation. There are times that I can feel Him in the car with me and then I start to cry like a baby. *When He is present, He does so many things in our lives.*

*He can become real to you today in Jesus’ name!* The Holy Spirit is given for your benefit. God knows this need of a comforter who can be contacted. He knows we need a Holy Spirit who is made visible whenever necessary. *From today, phanerosis is going to happen in your life in the name of Jesus!* You will see Him moving practically in your life!

*1 Corinthians 12:1-11 KJV*

1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.

3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
