*PRAY FOR YOUR LEADERS*

*"For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty."* 1 Timoth 2:2

Prayer is a very important aspect of our lives which must not be neglected. Some children do not know how to pray, some do not like to pray while some enjoy praying. Our prayer must not be centred on ourselves and families alone. We must pray for other people; this is called intercession -the Bible encourages us to do this always.

Who are we to pray for? Our leaders, both political and spiritual. Political leaders are the President, State Governors, Parliamentarians, Local Government Administrators, Head of Schools, Teachers and others who administer rule in the society. Why? So that we can live a quiet and peaceable life. When we pray for them, God gives them the wisdom to do things right in our society and we are happy.

Spiritual leaders are the General Superintendent/ Overseers, State, Region, National Overseers, Missionaries, Group and District pastors, Children and church school leaders and teachers. We should pray for these categories so that they can be led by the Spirit of God and be able to lead the congregation of God's people in the right direction. You must make it a point of duty to pray for leaders. Stop complaining against leadership without praying for them.

*God bless you 🙏*

Jesus Wins - Satan Loses

Memory Text: And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. (Rev 12:17)

The theme of the Bible’s last book, Revelation, is this: Jesus Wins, Satan Loses. The heart of this battle is outlined in Revelation 12, the focus of our study this week. This study will give a good preparation for understanding Revelation 14 and the three angels’ messages.

LET'S DO IT BETTER 2023 FOR BETTER RESULTS.

*TIPS ON HOW TO OVERCOME GOING LATE TO CHURCH*

● Iron all your cloth before you sleep.

● Polish/clean footwear before you sleep.

● Get your Bible, jotter, etc. ready in one place.

● Get your tithe &. offering ready.

● Sleep a bit early.

● Wake up on time.

● Avoid saying "Even when I get there early, I won't meet anyone"
Get there early and let someone come and meet you too. Don't forget you are also someone. The Bible says we must not join multitude to sin.

● Washing on worshipping days before church is not encouraged. Either clothes, car or anything. It may delay you.

● If it takes you 15 minutes to drive/walk to the church, always make allowance for extra time in case of anything. For instance, if service is 7am and it takes you 10 minutes to drive/walk to church, it's always better to leave home 6:40.

● Plan to get to church at least 10 mins before service starts, this reverential to God our Maker, Keeper and Helper.

● Don't give room for friends and relatives to visit you few hours to service. If they come when you are preparing for church, take them along or make them partake of God's blessings when you are back you can continue. They are not more important than God.

● Sabbath School, intercession and praise worship is part of service too!
A lesson missed is a treasure missed. Stop throwing away treasures!!

● And for leaders, service starts earlier with intercession! Make that arriving 10 mins before the time!
Going to church early invokes the blessing of the Lord upon your life.
Don't be a habitual late comer to church, it's a dishonour to your God.

Lateness to service is unfaithfulness!!!

Don't also form the habit of choosing worshipping days that you like for Church service or how the service flows.

All worshipping days are important to God as long as you are healthy. let your worship be a sweet smelling sacrifice to God.
“They that seek Me early shall find Me.” - GOD.

Above all always remember if you have appointment with your Governor or President you won't be late, skip meetings or rush the proceedings of the meeting, The ALMIGHTY is GREATER than them all. Be wise!!

Mythology of 25/12/ - the Birth of Jesus Fallacy

The Bible gives no specific date of Jesus' birth. However, the date can be estimated based on when Hebrew shepherds historically tended their flocks in open fields and according to the biblical account of Mary and Elizabeth's pregnancies.

What month was Jesus born in?

As we look at the story of when Jesus was born, we often think of the shepherds in the fields watching over their flocks. What can this evidence tell us about the date of Jesus’ birth?

Were the flocks in the fields around the time of our modern-day Christmas, December 25?

Let’s look at what the Bible says in Luke 2:8-9. “Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid.”

According to Bible commentator Adam Clarke, it was customary for the Jews to send their sheep to pasture from the spring until early October. As the cold winter months began, the flocks would return from the fields for shelter and warmth. Since the shepherds were still tending their flocks in the fields around Bethlehem it can be concluded that the angels announced the news of Jesus’ birth not later than October.

Clues to determine Jesus’ birthday....

We can find some additional clues to answer the question of “when was Jesus really born” by looking at the birth of John the Baptist. Luke 1 tells of Zachariah, who was from the priestly order of Abijah, and his barren wife, Elizabeth, becoming pregnant with John the Baptist after his days of service in the temple. In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, Gabriel visited Mary with the news that she would give birth to Jesus. The approximate month of Jesus’ birth can thus be determined by counting from the date of Zachariah’s priestly service until the birth of Jesus.

Jewish priests were divided into 24 courses which ministered throughout the year in the temple. The order of Abijah was the eighth priestly course (1 Chronicles 24:6-19) which served in the temple during the 10th week of the priestly cycle. The start of the 10th week coincided with the second Sabbath in the month of Sivan, which runs approximately from mid-May to mid-June. Soon after Zechariah returned from his priestly duties Elizabeth became pregnant with John the Baptist.

Luke 1:24-28, 31 records these events, “Now after those days his wife Elizabeth conceived; and she hid herself five months, saying, ‘Thus the Lord has dealt with me, in the days when He looked on me, to take away my reproach among people.’ Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. And having come in, the angel said to her, ‘Rejoice, highly favored one,the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!’...And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.”

The approximate month of Jesus' birth.

Therefore, according to the texts above we can approximate the month of Jesus’ birth to be around the time of Tishri (mid to late September). To arrive at this date, start at the conception of John the Baptist, Sivan (June), count forward six months to arrive at Gabriel’s announcement of the conception of Jesus, Kislev (December), then count forward nine more months, the time it takes for human gestation, to reach Tishri (September), when Jesus was born.

Jesus' birth, death and resurrection.

The exact date of Jesus’ birth may not be known, but we can rest assured that Jesus Christ would been born in the month of Tishri (September) and died for our sins in the 31AD (Galatians 3:13), rose again (1 Corinthians 15:3-6), and that He will one day come back to take us to heaven (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

Imagine such a sacrifice. Imagine leaving the glory of heaven to save humanity? This year, think upon Jesus, His sacrifice, and His mercy. Ask yourself how can I live like He lived?

May the spirit of the Lorde abides in you as we think of our salvation. I know we are not bound to second Resurrection when the saints reign with Christ for 1000 years

Creating a Pure Atmosphere—Every Christian home should have rules; and parents should, in their words and deportment toward each other, give to the children a precious, living example of what they desire them to be. Purity in speech and true Christian courtesy should be constantly practiced. Teach the children and youth to respect themselves, to be true to God, true to principle; teach them to respect and obey the law of God. These principles will control their lives and will be carried out in their associations with others. They will create a pure atmosphere—one that will have an influence that will encourage weak souls in the upward path that leads to holiness and heaven. Let every lesson be of an elevating and ennobling character, and the records made in the books of heaven will be such as you will not be ashamed to meet in the judgment.
