🌍 World Religion Day | Building Unity Through Faith in Kenya🌍

Today, on World Religion Day, observed every third Sunday of January since 1950, we join people of all faiths in reflecting on the profound role religion plays in shaping peaceful, just, and united societies.

Kenya’s strength lies in its religious and cultural diversity.
Interfaith understanding strengthens:
• National cohesion
• Peaceful coexistence
• Shared responsibility for the common good

Faith communities play a vital role in building a just and united nation.

Across traditions, religions are united by a common purpose to uplift humanity and foster love, justice, and fellowship.

“The fundamental purpose animating the Faith of God and His Religion is to safeguard the interests and promote the unity of the human race…”— Bahá’u’lláh

On World Religion Day, we celebrate the harmony of religions and the role of faith in strengthening peace and national cohesion in Kenya. May dialogue, respect, and shared action guide us toward a united and just society.

Day 1 at the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-7)

It was an honor for members of the Office of External Affairs of the Baha’is of Kenya to participate in the opening day of the 7th United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-7). We actively engaged in high-level discussions and global dialogues centered on the theme:

“Advancing sustainable solutions for a resilient planet.”

The conversations highlighted the urgent need for collective action, indigenous knowledge, and inclusive partnerships to address climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution.

We look forward to contributing to solutions that strengthen resilience and sustainability for present and future generations.

✨ Yesterday, on 25th September 2025, the Office of External Affairs of the Bahá’ís of Kenya, in collaboration with the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at the University of Nairobi, hosted an Interfaith Dialogue under the theme:
“Advancing Unity and Prosperity Together.” 🌍🤝

The dialogue drew inspiration from the Bahá’í International Community Addis Ababa Office’s statement: “The Role of Religions and Faith-Based Actors in Advancing Spiritual and Material Prosperity on the Continent of Africa.”

Leaders of diverse faith traditions, scholars, youth, and representatives of faith-based organizations came together to explore how spiritual principles; unity, justice, compassion, stewardship, and love for humanity; can guide practical collective action in addressing today’s profound challenges.

đź’ˇ By the close of the gathering, participants reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties and working collaboratively to build a more peaceful, just, and prosperous society.

Together, we are reminded that our shared values can light the path towards a future where spiritual and material progress walk hand in hand. ✨

The Office of External Affairs of the Baha’is of Kenya was honored to take part in the NXT HER Summit, an inaugural intergenerational gathering sponsored by the Nation Media Foundation and FP2030.

Over two powerful days, participants reflected on the journey since the Beijing Declaration, examining the progress made in advancing women’s rights and gender equality over the past 30 years. Conversations highlighted the need to break systemic and cultural barriers, expand opportunities, and promote co-leadership.

The summit also inspired participants to reimagine the future of feminism in a rapidly changing world; exploring the impact of emerging technologies, the future of work, sustainable financing beyond aid, and the powerful role of media in shaping inclusive narratives.

As the Office of External Affairs, we continue to learn and contribute to national conversations that advance gender equality and foster a more just and inclusive society.

On July 9th 1850, the Bab, the forerunner to Baha’u’llah, was executed in Tabriz, Persia by a firing squad of 750 men. The Bab, which means “the Gate” in Arabic, was a Messenger of God whose role was to herald the coming of the latest Manifestation of God: Baha’u’llah.
