We can classify the human race into three categories:

1)Natural men-those that have not experienced miracle of regeneration

1 Corinthians 2:14
[14]But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

-The natural man is blind to the spiritual world. Because of this deadness and blindness, the natural man has no appreciation of spiritual things.

-A natural person in this condition is bound to this material world, which compounds the tragedy of life without God. Because the natural man has no appreciation for the spiritual world, he lives basically for the same things that an animal lives for

2)Carnal men-those that are born-again but still operating from their soulish realm. They are dictated by their minds, emotions and will

1 Corinthians 3:1-3
[1]And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ.
[2]I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able;
[3]for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?

*The carnal Christian is deformed.

“And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ” (2 Cor 3:1).

*The carnal Christian is not only deformed but dependent.
“I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able” (2 Cor 3:2).

*The carnal Christian is also divisive. “For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?” (2 Cor 3:3).

3)Spiritual men-those that have yielded to the control of the Spirit and are led of the Spirit

1 Corinthians 2:15-16
[15]But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.
[16]For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

*the spiritual man lives by the Spirit.
“We have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God”
2 Cor 2.12

*the spiritual man learns from the Spirit.
He is given super-natural insight into the things we have been freely given by God. Paul continued, “Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual” 2 Cor 2:13).

*the spiritual man is liberated through the Spirit.
“But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ” (2 Cor 2:15–16).

Characteristics of those that have experienced the miracle of regeneration:

1. People who have been spiritually resurrected love God.

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? My tears have been my food day and night, while men say to me all day long, “Where is your God?” Psalm 42:1-3

2)People who have been spiritually resurrected love the people of God.

First John 3:14 says, “We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death.” True believers both love God and his people.

3)People who have been spiritually resurrected love prayer
Rom8:15 says, “For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, ‘Abba, Father.’” The Spirit of God draws us into intimacy and prayer with the Father.

4)People who have been spiritually resurrected study and obey the Word of God.

John 14:21 and 24 say this: Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him. He who does not love me will not obey my teaching.

5) People who have been spiritually resurrected continually put to death sin in their lives.

Romans 8:13-14 says, For if you live according to the sinful nature you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.,

6)They bring forth spiritual fruit in season and out of season

John 15:1-5
[1]“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.
[2]Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
[3]You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
[4]Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
[5]“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

7)They seek to do the will of God

Philippians 2:12-13
[12]Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;
[13]for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

8)They are ever renewing their minds to conform to their new nature:

Romans 12:2
[2]And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and l acceptable and perfect will of God. Serve God with Spiritual Gifts

9) They live their lives in total dependency on God:

Proverbs 3:5-6
[5]Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
[6]In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Jeremiah 17:7-8
[7]“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord.
[8]For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.

10)They seek to walk in the wisdom of God other than the wisdom of men:

James 3:13-17
[13]Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom.
[14]But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth.
[15]This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic.
[16]For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.
[17]But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

The wisdom of world is characterized by being:

-bitter envy
-Self-seeking
-earthly
-sensual
-demonic

The wisdom of God is characterized by:

-purity
-peace
-full of mercy
-willing to yield
-Good fruits
-without partiality
-without hypocrisy

I know whom I have believed:

2 Timothy 1:12
[12]For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day. Be Loyal to the Faith

Daniel 11:32
[32]Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.

One of the ways we know God is through the revelation of His various attributes and characteristics

1)God is faithful

Titus 1:1-2
[1]Paul, a bondservant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect and the acknowledgment of the truth which accords with godliness,
[2]in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began,

Numbers 23:19
[19]“God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

The only One we can trust without reservation is God. Because of His character, He “cannot lie” (Titus 1:2). Whatever He says or does is absolute truth. He has no ability to contradict Himself. When He makes a promise, He can’t help but keep it. He never deviates from His will or His Word.
Because God is trustworthy, we can be sure that He is always faithful toward His own children. That’s why you can trust Him no matter what happens. Although you may be experiencing adversity, you can know that He is reliable.

2)God is Holy

The holiness of God is His intrinsic and transcendent purity, the standard of righteousness to which the whole universe must conform.
God does not conform to any standard created by others. He is the standard.

Isaiah 6:1-3
[1]In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple.
[2]Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.
[3]And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!”

1 Peter 1:14-16
[14]as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance;
[15]but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,
[16]because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”

3)God is Good

One attributes that accurately defines who God is, is that God is a good God.
God's goodness can be defined as the collective perfections of His nature and the benevolence of His acts…God is good by nature and good in what He does.
The goodness of God means that God is the final standard of good, and that all that God is and does is worthy of approval.

Exodus 33:18-19
[18]And he said, “Please, show me Your glory.”
[19]Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”

Exodus 34:6
[6]And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth,

Psalms 31:19
[19]Oh, how great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, Which You have prepared for those who trust in You In the presence of the sons of men!

Psalms 27:13
[13]I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living.

5)God is patient

We would define the Divine patience as that power of control which God exercises over Himself, causing Him to bear with the wicked and forebear so long in punishing them.

Nehemiah 9:30
[30]Yet for many years You had patience with them, And testified against them by Your Spirit in Your prophets. Yet they would not listen; Therefore You gave them into the hand of the peoples of the lands.

Jeremiah 15:15
[15]O Lord, You know; Remember me and visit me, And take vengeance for me on my persecutors. In Your enduring patience, do not take me away. Know that for Your sake I have suffered rebuke.

6) GOD is omniscient

Psalms 139:1-6
[1]O Lord, You have searched me and known me.
[2]You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off.
[3]You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways.
[4]For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.
[5]You have hedged me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me.

God knows every detail of our lives

Luke 12:7
[7]But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. Confess Christ Before Men
[6]Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it.

God knows the hearts of all men

1 Samuel 16:7
[7]But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

“Know the God of your father, and serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind; for the LORD searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts” (1 Chron. 28:9).

Hebrews 4:13: “There is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.”

7)God is omnipresent

Psalms 139:7-12
[7]Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?
[8]If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
[9]If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
[10]Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me.
[11]If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,” Even the night shall be light about me;
[12]Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You.

We can be assured that God is with us all the time

Isaiah 41:10
[10]Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

Matthew 28:20
[20]teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

8)God is omnipotent

God is omnipotent. He has the ability and power to do anything.
When God exercises His power, He does so effortlessly. It is no more difficult for Him to create a universe than to make a butterfly.

The omnipotence of God is His ability and strength to bring to pass whatsoever He pleases.
His power is such that He can do whatever He pleases without difficulty or resistance; He cannot be checked, restrained, or frustrated.

Jeremiah 32:27
[27]“Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?

Matthew 19:26
[26]But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

9) God is just

Psalms 7:11
[11]God is a just judge, And God is angry with the wicked every day.

Psalms 33:5
[5]He loves righteousness and justice; The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.

Psalms 37:28
[28]For the Lord loves justice, And does not forsake His saints; They are preserved forever, But the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off.

10)God is merciful

Nehemiah 1:5
[5]And I said: “I pray, Lord God of heaven, O great and awesome God, You who keep Your covenant and mercy with those who love You and observe Your commandments,

Nehemiah 9:31
[31]Nevertheless in Your great mercy You did not utterly consume them nor forsake them; For You are God, gracious and merciful.

Psalms 5:7
[7]But as for me, I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy; In fear of You I will worship toward Your holy temple.

Psalms 25:10
[10]All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth, To such as keep His covenant and His testimonies.

Psalms 57:10
[10]For Your mercy reaches unto the heavens, And Your truth unto the clouds.

11)God is love

John 3:16
[16]For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

1 John 4:8
[8]He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

12)God is immutable

Scripture would also teach that God is immutable. “Immutability means not having the ability to change."

the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded. But you remain the same, and your years will never end. Psalm 102:25–27

“I the LORD do not change”Malachi (3:6).

Hebrews 13:8
[8]Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

13)The Sovereignty of God

"My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure" (Isa. 46:10);

"He doeth according to His will in the army of heaven, and the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay His hand" (Dan. 4:35).

Psalms 135:5-6
[5]For I know that the Lord is great, And our Lord is above all gods.
[6]Whatever the Lord pleases He does, In heaven and in earth, In the seas and in all deep places.

The sovereignty of God may be defined as the exercise of His supremacy. It means being infinitely elevated above the highest creature, He is the Most High, Lord of heaven and earth. Subject to none, influenced by none, absolutely independent; God does as He pleases, only as He pleases always as He pleases. None can thwart Him, none can hinder Him.

Living By Revelation

Matthew 16:13-17
[13]When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”
[14]So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
[15]He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
[16]Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
[17]Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.

Ephesians 1:16-18
[16]do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers:
[17]that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,
[18]the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

God never intended for us to live our Christian life without revelation. We must pray that God opens the eyes of our understanding in order to live by revelation.

What we need to know by revelation:

1)The hope of our calling

Ephesians 1:18
[18]the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling,

Hope means the expectation of coming good. We have been given hope of eternal life in Christ

Romans 8:24-25
[24]For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees?
[25]But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

The hope of our salvation

-Christ shall come again

Acts 1:10-11
[10]And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel,
[11]who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” The Upper Room Prayer Meeting

-We shall be transformed and be like Him
1 Corinthians 15:51-52
[51]Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed—
[52]in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

-We shall be redeemed from this world of pain, suffering and sorrow

Romans 8:18-25
[18]For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
[19]For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.
[20]For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope;
[21]because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bo***ge of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
[22]For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.
[23]Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.
[24]For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees?
[25]But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

-We shall forever live with God

Revelation 21:3-4
[3]And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.
[4]And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

2)Our Inheritance in Christ
..... what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saint,

-a new nature
2 Corinthians 5:17
[17]Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

-a new mind

1 Corinthians 2:16
[16]For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

-all spiritual blessings in heavenly places

Ephesians 1:3
[3]Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

-a new positioning

Ephesians 2:6
[6]and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

-access to all things that partain to life and godliness

2 Peter 1:3
[3]as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,

-peace with God and with men

Romans 5:1
[1]Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Romans 12:18
[18]If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.

-supernatural strength

Philippians 4:13
[13]I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

-supernatural provision

Philippians 4:19
[19]And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

-access to divine health

1 Peter 2:24
[24]who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.

-a victorious life

Romans 8:37
[37]Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

-access to the throne God

Hebrews 10:19
[19]Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus,

-access to the throne of grace

Hebrews 4:16
[16]Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

-through Christ we have access to exceedingly great precious promises

2 Peter 1:4
[4]by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

-through Christ we have access to the peace of God

Philippians 4:7
[7]and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

-We have access to the grace of God

Romans 5:2
[2]through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

3)The power of God that worketh in us:
Ephesians 1:19-20
[19]and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power
[20]which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,

-Power to overcome sin

Romans 6:14
[14]For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. From Slaves of Sin to Slaves of God

1 John 3:9-10
[9]Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. The Imperative of Love
[10]In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.

-Power to overcome the world

1 John 4:4
[4]You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

-Power to overcome the enemy

Luke 10:19
[19]Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Matthew 10:1
[1]And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.

Luke 9:1
[1]Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.

Acts 1:8
[8]But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

-This great power is necessary for us to grow in holiness.

Second Peter 1:3 says: His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called
us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. This great power is available to both help us escape the corruption in the world and also to continually grow into the image and character of God.

-This great power is necessary for us to minister to others.

Paul says: To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me.
Colossians 1:29

I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

Philippians 4:13 Whatever God has called us to do, he has given us the power to accomplish. We must realize this.

-This great power is necessary to keep our salvation.

First Peter 1:5 says, “who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.”

God’s power is shielding us until the completion of our salvation— which is when we will look just like Christ.
Those who are truly born again will not lose their salvation because God’s power keeps them.
Christ puts believers in his Father’s hand and he places them in his own hand as well. No one will be able to sn**ch them out of their hands (John 10:28-29).

The function of lifting:

Psalms 113:7-8
[7]He raises the poor out of the dust, And lifts the needy out of the ash heap,
[8]That He may seat him with princes— With the princes of His people.

God is a lifter of men. He is the one that lifts men and cause them to sit with princes.
If you walk with God, it's just a matter of time before your lifting comes.
The year 2024 is the year of lifting. For everyone who has been in a season of humbling and humiliation, 2024 is the year of experiencing tremendous uplifting and exaltation.

Various means by which God lifts men:

1)Function of humility

1 Peter 5:6
[6]Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,

You can either choose to humble yourself or let God humble you through various means and circumstances.
Jesus gave a parable

Luke 14:8-11
[8]“When you are invited by anyone to a wedding feast, do not sit down in the best place, lest one more honorable than you be invited by him;
[9]and he who invited you and him come and say to you, ‘Give place to this man,’ and then you begin with shame to take the lowest place.
[10]But when you are invited, go and sit down in the lowest place, so that when he who invited you comes he may say to you, ‘Friend, go up higher.’ Then you will have glory in the presence of those who sit at the table with you.
[11]For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Mark 9:35-37
[35]And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, “If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.”
[36]Then He took a little child and set him in the midst of them. And when He had taken him in His arms, He said to them,
[37]“Whoever receives one of these little children in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me but Him who sent Me.” Jesus Forbids Sectarianism

2)Function of service

John 13:14-17
[14]If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.
[15]For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.
[16]Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him.
[17]If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.

The Christian call is a call to service. We are called forth to serve God and others with our gifts, talents, resources etc.

Mark 10:42-45
[42]But Jesus called them to Himself and said to them, “You know that those who are considered rulers over the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.
[43]Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant.
[44]And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all.
[45]For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” Jesus Heals Blind Bartimaeus

3)Fuction of waiting in patience

Psalms 40:1-2
[1]I waited patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry.
[2]He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps.

God exalts those who patiently wait for His lifting other try to exalt themselves

4)Function of God's favour

Genesis 39:4
[4]So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority.

Esther 2:9,15,17
[9]Now the young woman pleased him, and she obtained his favor; so he readily gave beauty preparations to her, besides her allowance. Then seven choice maidservants were provided for her from the king’s palace, and he moved her and her maidservants to the best place in the house of the women.
[15]Now when the turn came for Esther the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her as his daughter, to go in to the king, she requested nothing but what Hegai the king’s eu**ch, the custodian of the women, advised. And Esther obtained favor in the sight of all who saw her.
[17]The king loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins; so he set the royal crown upon her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.

5)Function of God's call and anointing

1 Samuel 16:12-13
[12]So he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, with bright eyes, and good-looking. And the Lord said, “Arise, anoint him; for this is the one!”
[13]Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah.

6)Function of faithfulness

Luke 16:10-12
[10]He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.
[11]Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
[12]And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own?

God will often test our faithfulness in small areas before He elevate us to greater heights

7)The function of doing good.

Galatians 6:9
[9]And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

Esther 6:1-3
[1]That night the king could not sleep. So one was commanded to bring the book of the records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king.
[2]And it was found written that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s eu**chs, the doorkeepers who had sought to lay hands on King Ahasuerus.
[3]Then the king said, “What honor or dignity has been bestowed on Mordecai for this?” And the king’s servants who attended him said, “Nothing has been done for him.”

8)Function of a gift

Proverbs 18:16
[16]A man’s gift makes room for him, And brings him before great men.
